Hope that you are both able to have a good sleep Daff and Mr R Daff. I am sure that you both need it, as loss of sleep is bad for health.
Sorry I have not posted previously, I am in the reserves, but am now here with my (garter elastic) catapults. Ready to help to get rid of the baddies.

The blood etc should help too, so "good job" to the person who got the line in for Daff.

Good morning all. Sorry Daff had the run around, it must have been exhausting for her and I am sure we will none of us be trying to phone her while knowing she is too tired to reply. Time enough for that when she perks up again. I hope both she and you R were able to get a good nights sleep last night.

I'm glad to read that Daff now has her central line in, so hopefully she can get her strength up and also get some much needed sleep.

Popping in to say good night. So sorry Daff has had no rest but hope now the line is in there will be a big improvement.

Apologies for late posting...wasn't sure I'd come online really. Bad night for Daff; from what I can pull together, she was shunted around the hospital last night/this morning to find some surgeons who could insert a central line. Eventually, this morning, two Renal Surgeons agreed to do the procedure, which, from Daff, went well,
But she is absolutely shattered, having had liitle if no sleep for a couple of days.
But the line is in and they are now able to give blood etc, which may help her perk up a bit. For anyone who has tried to phone or text, sri - Daff just not in a position to respond at the mo. She has a couple of days worth of IV to catch up on, so is likely to be 'out of it' for a while yet.

Back from Hampshire now. Still sending you lots of thoughts Daff. (And R too of course).

Daff and Mr Daff, so hope the two of you are getting some quality time together and sufficient rest as well. From my angle as an ex cancer patient and ex nurse, I can appreciate what you are not telling us. So like Daff to put a good face on things and that is really the best way tobe. Getting downhearted never helped anyone. Mighty hugs and good wishes to you both.

Morning Daff and thanks for update Mr D. We are all sending our most positive thoughts her way.

I have made the porridge, bashed a Maris, buffed a err....wellie, and spent all night sewing sequins back on our hairbands. We should look loads smarter. Them bugs wont know what hit em. Have also found a man who plays the bagpipes....that should do it:-)))

Off to park to practice on the squirrels.

so sorry to hear daff that you are really having a bad time of it. once they get the blood in you wont feel so tired hopefully and will feel stronger to fight this infection.

A mixed 24hrs. Daff got the platelets last night, but only a fraction of the blood transfusion becuause the cannula failed (it was on it's 5th day, so not really unexpected). The cannula had to be removed in case of further infection, but meant no IV anti-B's.
Doc's want to put in a new central line as cannula's are a problem, but rang tonight and they have got one in that will last overnight until a line can be put in tme, so at least Daff can get some IV drugs etc.
She's tired and not up to phone calls/sms etc at present, but sure that will come in time. Sends her best to everyone and thanks you all for positive thoughts.
