Another day of progress, which is so heartening to read.
I hope they master the infection soon, so steady progress can be maintained.

Day 6: 2 little steps forward today - Daff opened her eyes to request from the nurse, and she has begun to control her own coughing which helps clear the fluid on the chest, which the medic's are pleased with.
Bloods remain low and needed platelets today.
There is still an infection that they have not yet isolated, but tests continue - so temp still up and down at present.
Med's have said it is going to be slow progress, and one of the 'touring consultants' today ref'd to Daff as 'an interesting case' (but as he was talking to other senior med's and not me I lost the rest in translation !!! But it probably stems from her being an AML/chemo patient rather than the 'normal' (?) patients they get in ICU).
Thank's to those who have sent cards/notes but forgive me for not taking them in yet - (a) they don't allow it in this ward and (b) Daff's not showing response to general chat ... yet.
Currently watching Scooby Doo yet again coz visiting g/daughter really, really needs to watch it....again.....sigh. 'least the felines have vanished (they prefer the Documentary channel - especially RSPB programmes! lol!!)

Hello Daff, Mr Daff and fellow troops, hope today sees more small steps on the road to recovery ,we are marching by your side every step of the way and we are keeping our uniforms in pristine condition. (honestly).
I may need to renew the pink feathers on my cowboy hat as I got caught in a shower yesterday and they are a bit droopy now. Maybe they'll fluff up if I attack with the hair dryer,mmnnn may try that later.

I am on riot patrol at the moment ,(half term) boys are so noisy at times .

Back later for another look in.

Good morning Daff, Mr D and Motley Crew....I was so thrilled to hear that there are small, positive improvements with Daff and hope the day brings even more. Thank you as ever,Mr D for letting us know.

Rather dully, drizzly day here. Boozin pal was here last night so we are growling around the kitchen slightly hungover. The doggie is rolling her eyes and trying to be patient for her walkies.
