	morning all big hugs for R and Daff And BC from gizmo who brought me a manky smelly teddybear last night and dumped it on my bed . seems progress is being made very positive I guess we must dust the glitter down and be ready for inspection soon lol

	Trachy was done this afternoon around 3pm. By 4.30 Daff was awake and looking around. She was confused and somewhat anxious, but did realise she was in hospital, though that's about all. Dr's really pleased with current progress, and slowly reducing the support the ventilator isgiving - she is breathing 'normally' with just a little boost of oxygen, when she doesn't think about it!! Heartrate and BP still erratic, but I don't think she's really shrugged off all the sedative, plus still getting anti-b's obviously. She kept struggling to stay awake today, so a bit hard to come away but you get 'chucked out' of ICU when they do anything that they consider may be 'invasive' to a patient or patients well being, and at handover times...a plus point I think. So that's it today - forward again and hopefully a little less confusion tomorrow, and maybe able to speak by the weekend (just in time for the rugby...sigh!!!! ;o) Hey ho!) Rgds, R.
