Thanks for the update Mr Daff. Daff's getting there slowly but surely. Hopefully each day will bring a bit more progress. |

Small steps.....first 'solids' for a month today, a few sips of squash and a small tub of ice cream, with the promise of a cuppa to follow. Enjoyed! Still has a drip feed in place, but this means that there's 'space' in the throat which may help using the voice tube on the trachy. We'll see. |

Another suggestion R as a short term measure. If you can get into Daff's craft bits and pieces she will have sheets of letters. She might be able to spell words out by pointing to the letters. tiring and time consuming but at least she will be able to communicate. |

Good news that daff is now trying to communicate. Very frustrating for her though. It can be difficult to speak with a trachy, and even then difficult for some people to understand the speech. Good suggestions re writing, cant think of any better. Keep plenty of paper available for all Daffs questions! Hugs to you both. |

How frustrating it must be not to be able to communicate properly.Poor Daff.It will come ,as will her strength. As for her doing sign language I can just imagine some of the signs she would do lolol |
