that sounds promising. So pleased that Daff had a better day and also glad that she has enjoyed getting her cards.

I am sure that she will come on much more if she can be in her home environment. Hospitals are such that even the best of us become institutionalised and unaware of the real world. It must be so much worse if, like Daff, you have a tremendous jolt to your system so you are left disorientated.

Please don't worry about reciprocating cards R. We know how your time is already taken up, you don't have time to be worrying about social niceties.

As always, take care and drive carefully on icy roads. Sleep well tonight and hope Daff does too and that tomorrow is another good day.

Sri a bit late - number of phone calls tonight!! A better day today, and Daff beginning to be aware of 'real / not real', at least for a time.
Seen by Occupational Therapist this a.m., who was happy with Daff's progress, and scheduled for Social Welfare rep tomorrow a.m. - all working towards Daff coming home. Mulit-disciplinary meeting to follow tomorrow's, and we'll see what happens from them.

For those who have sent cards, to the best of my knowledge all have been (very gratefully) received - from antipodean well wishes to closer to home 'black cats' !! I thank you all for these, and apologise now for not reciprocating - for the majority of you I have absolutely no idea where you are barring postmarks !!! :o( But wish u all Seasons Best Wishes, good health and happiness.

BC, Jingle Bell knickers!! The mind boggles, lol. x

Liquidising food is a great idea. it could be done at home and taken in like the soup. Hospital food is lacking in flavour and she needs to be stimulated to eat. Keep on going, Dafff.

Good morning Daff and R. Hope yesterday was a good day for Daff and that some food was accepted. take care on those roads R.

BC Your knickers may be jangling I prefer to keep mine silent. But I have the shocking pink sparkly bobble hat, orange sparkly leggings etc, that is enough to frighten anything off.

Hope today is a good one for Daff and you can get some more homemade soup for her.
Chilly here this morning.
But forecast is for getting warmer.
Lets melt the white stuff, be it snow or frost where you are

Good morning Daff and I hope you had a little more to eat yesterday:-) Very very cold here but I think it is the same everywhere right now, some places worse than others.

I hope that Daff managed to eat a little of what she fancied today.

Also if her memory, and grasp of things is still a bit off, I hope that she is not feeling aggitated by it.

I think that dehydration can cause memory and concentration problems, so I hope that Daff is at least being able to have a decent liguid intake (one way or another)

If Daff isn't aggitated, I would try to relax about her memory problems. Thinking takes energy too, and Daff is spending nher (little) energy on other things.

Sending you poitive thoughts and hope that you (and Daff) have a common sense Doc. who will do what is in Daff's best interests, with your blessing.

We just got back from Birmingham and it was -7. Son had an accident on the M5 today, which was because the bloomin great lorry in front braked........fortunately he and the other driver are ok, but sons van is aright off!!!!!
