Oh thats a shame! But better safe then sorry. We had the snow here later on in the day, but stopped now. I agree, people didnt make such heavy weather of snow when we were young. I remember my OH walking 8 miles to town for food, on the tops of the hedges in 1967

No meeting - Physio and Social couldn't get to the hospital (both based in Cardiff), and I couldn't get more than 800m from home. Conditions here atrocious, with not a sign of a plough or gritter. Absolutely gridlocked. One poor guy has been in traffic that has taken 6 hours to travel 5 miles. I eventually gave up, having tried the 3 different route options I have, all with the same result.
But it's now stopped snowing (first time today), so maybe tomorrow I may be able to get through. The sister who does the soups etc (it was hot chicken wings yesterday, two of which were eaten!), is stuck in work some 15 miles from home (she's a nurse so guess she may possibly have a bed tonight!).
But that's it folks....not a good day.
We had snow like and worse than this when I was a kid, and at this time of year, but never seemed to have the sort of problems the Councils claim they have today......though perhaps there wasn't so much traffic around? But then, there wasn't the need for motorways (exect M1) then, either !!!!!

Morning Daff and Mr D. Have just come back from sliding round the block with doggie. She is so indignant that we can't make it to Hyde Park as usual! lol Jolly cold and icy at the moment and hope Mr D has his thermals on and is eating properly...

Morning everyone ,Hope mr daff is negotiating the snow and ice OK ,Daff keep up the progress ,at the moment the snow has missed us ,but it is all around us My son has just gone to do the last few school runs the catholic ones are still open until tomorrow .We are then going to get some food and veg .
