20yrs ago I was 19...working in a local factory kitchen while doing a YTS course in Hotel and Catering...footloose and fancy free with my eye on a lad in the factory lol.

Passed my driving test on the 21st April and the following night met my first steady boyfriend lasted 21/2yrs.

Had long blonde highlighted hair permed to be like Jon bon jovi (was my idol) was a very trim/slim (no baby belly) size 10 with a decent clevage lol.

Lived at home with Mam and Dad. Went out every Fri, Sat and Sun night rolling into work on the Mon still hung over lol

Those were the days. Do I miss them - SOMETIMES!

20 years ago we lived in Clifton beds and I was working for the MOD at RAF Henlow in civilian personnel. Son had set up home in his own house so it was still just the two of us. We had our adorable first grandson who was born the previous year.

20 years ago today was my cousins 21st birthday!

Can't remember what we did to celebrate - some sort of family do or meal no doubt.

I was working in a bank where I had been for 3 years. I stayed for another 17 before I left - bearing in mind the current climate - just in time !!!

20 years ago I was trying to cope with a six year old with food allergies, and a 4 year old with severe speech problems. Life was lived on a knife edge. I never knew which of them would blow their top first.

Everyone welcome on here whether you were around 50 years ago or 20 years ago.

Hi all,

Hi Marilyn yes Norwich is a lovely place although I didn't spend much time there. My Oh lived there for 3 years and he liked it. We have friends there who we met on hoiliday. Must go back one day.

All, When you look back overtime makes you realise how much we've all come forward and achieved, even if its only the littlest of things.

Sis, hugs for you love. I was doing the same, but also juggling having the house modernised around us both and working part time plus about to be dealt the blow that my Dad had lung cancer from which he died in 1990. Had just coped with my Mum having a heart attack and developing full blown diabetes too so trying to divide myself into so many bits to deal with everything, all by myself. No wonder I am barmy now!

Twenty years ago I was recently widowed with two sons, aged 5 & 6 years old, and very disilusioned (sp?) with life.

Today I am the proud mum of a nearly 15 year old daughter and a doting nain to my 13 month old grandaughter. You never know what is around the corner.........or the next.
