~♥footie~angel♥~ Report 23 Mar 2009 15:46

Jesus loves me! this I know,
For the Bible tells me so.
Little ones to Him belong;
they are weak but He is strong.

Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
The Bible tells me so.

Jesus loves me! loves me still,
'tho I'm very weak and ill,
that I might from sin be free,
bled and died upon the tree.

Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
The Bible tells me so.

Jesus loves me! He who died
heaven's gate to open wide;
He will wash away my sin,
let His little child come in.

Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
The Bible tells me so.

Jesus loves me! He will stay
close beside me all the way.
Thou hast bled and died for me,
I will henceforth live for Thee.

Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
The Bible tells me so.

Jesus loves me when I'm good.
When I do the things I should.
Jesus loves me when I'm bad,
but it makes him oh so sad.

Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
The Bible tells me so.

Here you go Barb! lol

My Music Teacher was in the local Folk Club & used to give us a very varied curriculum !!!!!!!!!

Chorus:
Bottle of wine, fruit of the vine, when you gonna let me get sober. LEAVE me alone. Let me go home. Let me go HOME and start over.

Well, I've rambled around this dirty old town singing for nickels and dimes.
Times getting' rough. I can't get enough to buy me a little bottle of wine.

(Chorus)

Well, little hotel, older than hell, cold as the dark in the mine.
Light so dim, I had to grin, I got me a little bottle of wine.

(Chorus)

Well, the preacher will preach and the teacher will teach. The miner will dig in the mine.
I ride the rods, trusting in God, huggin' my little bottle of wine.

(Chorus)

Well, pain in my head, bugs in my bed, pants so old that they shine.
Out on the street, I tell the people I meet to buy me a little bottle of wine.

(Chorus)

Bottle of wine, fruit of the vine, when you gonna let me get sober.

Hoobity

Hoobity Report 23 Mar 2009 15:19

In primary we used to sing at the end of the day

Hands together softly so
little eyes shut tight
father just before we go
hear our prayer tonight

edit:- for Mau, remember Cushie Butterfield, we used to sing that an all with the music teacher in secondry.

Rambling

Rambling Report 23 Mar 2009 15:15

and this we sang at the end of the afternoon, put our chairs up on the tables and went home lol (first two verses only )

Now the day is over,
Night is drawing nigh,
Shadows of the evening
Steal across the sky.

Now the darkness gathers,
Stars begin to peep,
Birds, and beasts and flowers
Soon will be asleep.

Had to look it up !
Will Shakespeare
Who is Sylvia?
What is she?
That all our swains commend her?
Holy, fair,
And wise is she
The Heav'ns such grace did lend her
: - That adored she might be. :
Is she kind as
She is fair?
For beauty lives with kindness;
To her eyes
Love doth repair
To help him of his blindness;
: And being help'd in habits there. :

Then to Sylvia
Let us sing,
That Sylvia is excelling;
She excells
Each mortal thing
Upon the dull Earth dwelling;
: - To her garlands let us bring. :

Here's another one Hoobity

The Waters Of Tyne

I cannae get to my love if I would dee
The waters of Tyne run between him and me
And here I mun stand with a tear in my e'e
Baith sighing and sickly my sweetheart to see

Oh where is the boatman, my bonnie hinny
Oh where is the boatman - oh bring him to me
To ferry me o'er the Tyne to my honey
And I will remember the boatman and thee

Oh bring me a boatman, I'll gi'e all my money
And you for your trouble rewarded shall be
To ferry me o'er the Tyne to my honey
Or scull him across the rough river to me

the very first song i remember singing at primary school..

There was a tailor had a mouse;
Hi diddle um cum feedle.
The tailor kept him in his house;
Hi diddle um cum feedle.
Hi diddle um cum
Tarrum tairum
Through the town of Ramsey.
Hi diddle um cum
Over the lee.
Hi diddle um cum feedle.

The tailor though his mouse was ill;
Hi diddle um cum feedle.
So he gave him part of a blue pill;
Hi diddle um cum feedle.
Hi diddle um cum
Tarrum tairum
Through the town of Ramsey.
Hi diddle um cum
Over the lee.
Hi diddle um cum feedle.

The tailor thought his mouse would die;
Hi diddle um cum feedle.
So he baked him in an apple pie;
Hi diddle um cum feedle.
Hi diddle um cum
Tarrum tairum
Through the town of Ramsey.
Hi diddle um cum
Over the lee.
Hi diddle um cum feedle.

The pie was cut, the mouse ran out;
Hi diddle um cum feedle.
The tailor chased him all about;
Hi diddle um cum feedle.
Hi diddle um cum
Tarrum tairum
Through the town of Ramsey.
Hi diddle um cum
Over the lee.
Hi diddle um cum feedle.

The mouse was found in a corner, dead;
Hi diddle um cum feedle.
So he got another in its stead;
Hi diddle um cum feedle.
Hi diddle um cum
Tarrum tairum
Through the town of Ramsey.
Hi diddle um cum
Over the lee.
Hi diddle um cum feedle.
