...................................................................................................whooshed I didnt see it, but lets face it if we all left after a thread was zapped...there would be none of us left.
So before anyone else goes for this reason, remember you are not alone lol.

It would take more than a zapped thread to prise me out of here, Marion! Come to think of it, I seldom put up threads anyway! So that's ok then.....BC XX

That's ok then BC, were stuck with you then lol

Surely whoever it is that is leaving it is not just because a thread was whooshed? And if it was, the thread was possibly whooshed for a reason. surely not a reason on its own to leave??

MarionfromScotland

MarionfromScotland Report 3 Mar 2009 15:44

I think it depends on the moodof who is in charge of the ..'Whoosh button' if it stays or not .

Marion is this the chat thread that you are talking about. As I see it she is leaving not because the thread was whooshed but because twice she has posted and been reported for no apparent reason so feels victimized. It is time that GR started actually taking note of who is reporting people and how many times they report the same person.

I missunderstood it then Ann. I thought a thread of the person had been reported then whooshed.

I agree that GR should tell anyone what thye are reported for and why their threads get whooshed.
If they dont tell us we wont know where we went wrong.

Who has had a thread removed and who feels got at then ?

There must have been some reason for it to be removed .

Ive reported things in the past to be sent a mail from Gr saying, In this instance this thread will not be removed but we will keep an eye on it / the situation etc.

One person may think their post/thread is acceptable on a FH site, but to some it may be the opposite. (you find this the case with rude joke threads all the time)

It's Alko Elaine. From what I can make out it was Keith's thread.
She has been reported twice in 12 hours. Keith deleted the thread so we will never know what it was that was awful enough to report.

I'm sure she'll be back once the red mist lifts.

Jean.

I hope they tell her why then, but I doubt it.

Elaine, it is enlightening to know that sometimes they don't remove the thread that is reported. I was under the impression that they always removed it. I didn't see the thread in question so can't comment on it.

I have reported posts before that I felt crossed the line and had replies from GR that they didn't agree and were leaving the post. So they must have agreed with the complainer.

Lindy Report 3 Mar 2009 16:36

As usual I have no idea as to what went on but then I don't go onto chat.

I was reported numerous times by someone who shan't be named, and was even referred to as a racist.

One of my threads was the first to be locked on GR, another was removed, but I am still here.

I am up for renewal at the end of the month.

mmmmm!!!

Oh dear, thought things were too good to last, have a few thoughts about the situation but will hold my tongue for now lol, have only just renewed so don't want to be going anywhere yet lol

Hope things calm down soon and the person who is upset will reconsider.

Yes........I can confirm that GR don't always just delete a thread because of one complaint.........if they feel it's within the t and c's they'll leave it be....and tell you so via email.

HUGE fuss about nothing and a major over reaction imho.

In the old days it was 8 wks non negotiable.......no warnings or twelve hour bans..........and no right of reply either.

I don't know what was or wasn't said on the thread........but in the general scheme of things it's hardly a disaster or even worthy of all the fuss that is being made. xxx

MarionfromScotland Report 3 Mar 2009 17:29

Sylvia, looks like the others have gone.
My point is that if you get zapped it's not the end of the world, life goes on.
