Morning all
Well back late last night after a good day.

Dad was OK, very frail but in good spirits and not yet fighting to get out of hospital. He has agreed to going into a nursing home. he is covered in bruising, Rita will understand this. But we spent over an hour with him and he was awake the whole time.
Later we went to the Bupa home. It seems very nice and will be fine as long as SS agree that they both need Nursing care not just a care home. So today we wait for formalities. The home has 2 rooms oposite each other available and is in the countryside but near a small town and 2 of my brothers and sisters. About an hour by car from me but they can't be near everyone.
My sister in law kindly cooked a lovely casserole for us with her family when we got back.

Oh well I'll let you know how we get on.

Linda :-) <3

Stephen I had a giggle here my step father in Law was named" Hamish " I called him Hamie he orignally came from the Highlands spoke Gaelic., had a job to understand him when I first knew him that would be back in late 1970 he died about four years ago.,
I never saw him in a kilt, he wore plad trousers he had been in a scottish regiment I not sure I think it was the Golden highlanders, ?

George you found your way home then ? what a good lad you are one pint was it the strong stuff. ?

Maddie I typed without the letters on the keys, it was the fact that they vanished and I paid for the numbers on the keys pads.. so wrote to tell them, how bad it was, a company with a good name sell products that were faulty. didnt do the company justice. and had a lovely letter back.next things I knew they said send the keyboard back they would forward a new one to me before I sent mine and they did that, they wanted to do some tests on the keyboard to see why that happened, it appears it should not have done. it was their l;atest one as well.

so I was happy and they were.

#Crawls onto thread.#

Oh gosh, I am sooooo tired. Why is everyone buying stuff for Christmas already. Not just bits and bobs, but full grown lists of food, drink, toys and suchlike. Its only OCTOBER.

I fancy a little black and red number for Halloween, satin would be tops I think. I would try for linen, but it would crease sitting on me broomstick.

Rita, I am pleased your keyboard has been replaced. However, I used to use a typewriter many years ago, that had NO letters on the keys. I can touch type you see, and do not need them. Sort of like playing the old Joanna. :-)

Hope everyone is well. Linda I hope all works out satisfactorily for your parents, and they are treated like Royalty. They deserve the very best treatment.

George, please call me Maddie. :-D

Take care all.

Rita, that was good service you got with your keyboard, just as well you did complain.

Marilyn, I'll be changing my avatar later, in a bit of a rush at the moment because I've been sorting out all my census records and certs.

Linda, I hope you find a nice place for your parents, it'll make you feel so much better knowing that they're being well looked after. It'll be good for them to be able to relax and let other people take care of them instead of trying to do it themselves.

Stephen........................ you're mad!!! But we love you for it.... :-D :-D :-D

Rita Report 13 Oct 2011 11:31

My family laugh at me Marilyn as when I buy something I say. " O well another bit of your inhertance has gone " they told me to use what little I have on my self and comforts.
But I still am careful what I buy. I suppose being as we were poor when I was young it stay with me not too waste money. in saying that I have brought a dvd of "Downton Abbey " first series. got it from Amazon. the s eries that is on now comes out 7th November so I have paid for that one as well. in advanced
I thought Microsoft treatment v to me was very good., they emailed me and wrote to me and the women was so helpful. I never thought they would change it. so I thought people should know, you dont have to shout about things you can go about thing in a nicer way.first.

I often complain if am am in a shop or restaurant and get bad service
you have to speak up for yourself these days..
I sent food back three times when I was in Germany, they didnt understand no one spoke English and it was a big Restaurant it was under cooked and I asked for it to be well cooked , it ran with blood..I managed to get them to understand evenutally after trying in hand movement and French.
