Hello Marcelle,

Just been thinking about you and Callum, I hope you have had some luck with the bullies this week and things have worked out ok for him.

Keep us posted x

Marcelle Report 6 Dec 2008 09:41

I was talking to a work colleague on Thursday and she was telling me that her daughter had been excluded from school. Apparently a boy a year older has been taunting her and pushing her around for weeks. She had told him over and over again to leave her alone but I think he pushed her to the limit. She snapped turned round and punched him full in the face! The result is he has a broken nose and she has been excluded from school and grounded by her mum! I know we shouldn't condone violence but I wish my son would have broken his bullies nose! Its sure what I feel like doing. Bet she wont get any more trouble off of him

Next time the schools do their anti bullying week I will be there at the front of the queue to help these kids out that are bullied.

I can't say Thank you enough times to everyone here for all your understanding and support you have given to me and to help me deal with this and to help me support Callum. Its good to know that people I have never met can be so kind and caring. You are all truly wonderful

x

Forgot to mention that whilst talking to a parent in my younger sons school that two of the mums who have children that have gone up to the secondary school are talking about asking OFSTED to do an investigation into the school. It seems the problem is a lot bigger than I thought.

I am so happy Callum is feeling better about things.
I wish him the best of luck and I hope those bullies get what they deserve.

Just as a matter of interest and it was quite ironic that it happened to a friend of my Grandaughter this week.
It was not at school but in a playground opposite my son's house.
My Grandaughter and her friend were playing in sight of my son's house and some bullies came up to the friend taunting her. She cowered back as they were bigger than her. My grandaughter bwho is 10 years old has been taking Kung Fu lessons for the past 2 years so she has been taught self defense. She did what her teacher taught her and went up to the bullies with the stance that Kung Fu students do and calmly said leave her alone I am experieced in Kung Fu. Then shouted my son very loudly they soon dissapeared
So Louise is right it's a great idea to have some kind of self defense it does frighten then away. They are taught not to use it unless absolutely neccesary
I was really proud of my Grandaughter when my son told me. It was quite a coincidence that this happened this week after reading you post the other day.
He may not be interested but maybe a video on it might be an idea for him to see.

Good luck Marcelle and Callum hope all goes well for you
Regards
Jackie

Thanks

Callum identified one today. The head of year walked to the gates with him just making out they were chatting and walking along. I was at the school next door getting my youngest son and Callum then met me for a lift home.
Hopefully I will hear from them on Monday. Callum also made sure he stayed with a large group of his friends at lunch time. His spirits have lifted tons today as he has been moved up a group in French & Maths.
I am so proud of him. I always tell my children every day that I love them but I think I need to back off of him a bit now as the cuddles are getting a bit much for him lol Work was a nightmare today as I couldn't concentrate with worry but my boss was very understanding. My boss caught me crying yesterday whilst I was on the phone to the school and he gave me this today to give to Callum. Not sure Callum will understand it fully though

Ezekiel 25:17
The path of the rightous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and goodwill, sheperds the weak through the valley of darkness. For he is truly his brothers keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you.

It just suprised me coming from him. I think it hit a raw nerve with Callum being beaten up and he said he would love to talk to Callum if he wanted to about how he came to join the army as he is ex army

Dont people suprise you

Will keep you updated

Hello All

Sorry didn't get back till late last night and then had to work this morning.

Well went to the school and had Callums review (which was very very good).
Head of year came over and I explained all that had happened and quoted the duty of care and threatened to call the police etc.
She asked Callum if he could identify them and he gave a description that fitted most of the kids there!!
She got up on the laptop all the year 9 to 11 school photos of the students and he pointed 2 out. They must have had some idea who they were as her & his tutor kept calling up names and pictures of known trouble makers. One person they weren't suprised at the other they were very suprised at. (I kept their names in my mind so I know who they are)

They have told me they will not tolerate this and Callum is going to identify them today at school for definate in a very quiet way. From what she was saying there are a group of older kids who are terrorising the younger ones. They are going to get them and say a teacher reported some incidents and take it from there. She hasn't told me what she will do to them but has promised to contact me today or Monday. I have told her that I don't just want them excluded for a couple of days as I dont see why they should sit at home watching tv and have a few days off.

His tutor has told Callum to go to him straight away if any one even so much as approaches him looking for trouble. He took Callum to one side and explained that he is always their for him and that he can go to him about anything at anytime. He isn't just their for school work.

They explained that they just do not have the cover of staff at lunch times but they are going to put an email out to all tutors and staff to be more vigilant. I made Callum walk infront of me today to see if anyone approached him but they never. I am going up at 2.30pm when school finishes to collect my younger son and have told Callum to wait for me and I will keep my eyes peeled

Even on the way their he said he doesn't want to talk about it so I said we will talk about it once more to his tutors and then leave it for now. They didn't pin me down mum the pinned my arms behind me. I was standing up.

Will update you when I get back this afternoon to see if anything has happened

Thank you for all your concern

Anyone who is affected by bullying, take a look at Red Balloon, it is a new thing, to help bullied children, they might be able to give advice.

Sorry abrupt message but o.h. hanging over my shoulder,

good luck tonight, Marcelle.

HI Marcelle
I am so sorry to hear about your son. I can imagine how he feels. Don't let matters drop get something done about it they can't get away with their constant bullying and I hope your son does say who they all are.
I know at my Grandchildren's school they have large posters all around the school about bullying and it will not be tolerated. I am of the understanding that there is hardly any bullying goes on. So maybe that could be a suggestion you could make to the school.
Anything is worth a try
Good luck for tonight and I hope your son feels better real soon. He does need some help with it though as it could harm him emotionally.
Kind Regards
Jackie

Lots of love from

Hi Marcelle
Been reading through your thread. Hope your son is feeling better

My son was bullied at primary school, he told me and who was doing it. When I spoke to his headteacher and class teacher they were unhelpful and said that he should not make himself a victim, what ever that is s'posed to mean!. He was much happier when he went up to secondary and made new friends. He is in y10 and has friends in all years.

All I can say is stick to your guns and dont be fobbed off, your son has been assulted.
