I was 12 and I remember running out to tell my brother-in-law as he was walking to the pub.
JFK was a very charismatic man, and he was a loss to the US.

I was in my first year nursing school, think it was about noon, classes were cancelled, we spent the rest of the day in front of the TV.
My son David was born in 1974, the subject has always fascinated him since he did a project in school.
I'll never forget the shock -Kennedy was a very popular president, including with Canadians.

Hello all....back for a wee visit. As for the question I was 10 and I remember I was home sick from school and watching the tellie when the news broke. Strange thing was I had just done a school project on President Kennedy and had handed it in for marking the day before he was assassinated. I found that the event effected me as I was devastated (probably because of the project I had just done).

I was with a friend on a bus going home from watching one of our teachers in an amateur performance of the play "A Man for All Seasons".

The bus driver heard the news on the radio and stopped the bus so he could tell all the passengers.

It's the only news event that I can actually remember where I was and what I had been doing at the time.

Had left school in the July aged 17.

Had got in from work. Dad was decorating the dining room and had the radio on.

Mum cried and I made her a cup of tea and then went next door to tell my friend.

I can't remember hearing it had happened, I was ten, considerably younger than Mick.

I can remember Millicent Martin singing a song about it the next night on That Was The Week That Was.

I was in the living room with my mum getting ready fr bed. My Dad had been having a wash in the kitchen listening to the radio and he came in and told us. I will always remember it because I was eight years old and it was the first time I had ever heard the word 'assassinated' and I had to ask what it meant.

It is one of those times I will never forget, like being in a car on the M5 coming back from the Ideal Home Exhibition and hearing on the radio that Elvis was dead, the day that Diana died and 9/11.

In the lounge at my parents house. I was watching TV and I thought it was Coronation Street, but I could be wrong, when the newsflash came on. Mum was upstairs and I remember shouting to her "He's dead". She came running down because she thought I meant her budgie!!!!
