Thanks Helen
I don't often get near BHS so it was a bit of a treat and nice to shop somewhere different and get money off too.
Will probably try to get back there again, especially if you can advise as to the 20% off.

Ros did you have the Gold card or the choice card?

Helen1959

Helen1959 Report 28 Oct 2008 22:22

Ann you can transfer balances across from other cards interest free on payments for 9 months, so say you have a balance of £3000 on a card you would actually save £256 pound in interest payments.
There is also 6 months interest free on Bhs purchases, so you can buy Xmas presents now and spread the payments for 6 months before you have to pay any interest on any remaining balance.
There is a 3 month interest free period on purchases you make anywhere else as well.

but it`s a credit card, Ros xx

Helen1959 Report 28 Oct 2008 22:18

rosalyn, the points that are awarded on the new card are better value than on the old Goldcard. You used to get 1 point for every £10 you spent. The new one is 5 points for every £1 in Bhs and 1 point for every £1 every where else. (M & S give you 1 point for evey £1 in M&S and 1 point for every £2 pounds elsewhere, so Bhs give you more points per pound than they do)
You will be sent money off vouchers every 3 months with the new card, 500 points equal a £5 voucher, so if you accumalate 3000 points they will send you £30 pounds worth of vouchers and of course you will still get invitations for the 20% events which are just for card holders during the year. Although as i said earlier there will be another 20% mega weekend for everyone in Nov.

Prices were reduced anyway and then 20% off on top. That was a nice surprise at the till.

Ros,
Had a look on QVC and I would think it is a good present for anyone, especially older people(not like me lol) to keep warm if the heating has to be turned down this winter.

Havent thought about sisters in law or my sister and seh has wedding anniversary on the 21st as well.

My lot not a hope yet a few bits for laddo and tiddlers stockings but eldest says she doesnt want one this year but cant tell me what she wants.

Now if someone could give me an energy jab I might be able to get on with it.
