Linda it was 20% off everything on Friday and Saturday just gone and that was in every Bhs.

rosalyn, the points that are awarded on the new card are better value than on the old Goldcard. You used to get 1 point for every £10 you spent. The new one is 5 points for every £1 in Bhs and 1 point for every £1 every where else. (M & S give you 1 point for evey £1 in M&S and 1 point for every £2 pounds elsewhere, so Bhs give you more points per pound than they do)
You will be sent money off vouchers every 3 months with the new card, 500 points equal a £5 voucher, so if you accumalate 3000 points they will send you £30 pounds worth of vouchers and of course you will still get invitations for the 20% events which are just for card holders during the year. Although as i said earlier there will be another 20% mega weekend for everyone in Nov.

but it`s a credit card, Ros xx

Helen1959 Report 28 Oct 2008 22:22

Ann you can transfer balances across from other cards interest free on payments for 9 months, so say you have a balance of £3000 on a card you would actually save £256 pound in interest payments.
There is also 6 months interest free on Bhs purchases, so you can buy Xmas presents now and spread the payments for 6 months before you have to pay any interest on any remaining balance.
There is a 3 month interest free period on purchases you make anywhere else as well.

Thanks Helen
I don't often get near BHS so it was a bit of a treat and nice to shop somewhere different and get money off too.
Will probably try to get back there again, especially if you can advise as to the 20% off.

Ros you can still use your choice card, they still haven't decided when that will finish yet. Don't forget there is a 20% day for cardholders next Thursday. Stores open at 9am and will be open till 10pm. Guess who's working that night?

Helen1959 Report 28 Oct 2008 22:54

that's the end of the choice year which happened at the end of Sept every year. Depending on what level you were on in Sept, will depend on what level you will be on now. If you only had upto 10 points you wouldn't have any discount level. If you were on 5% and upto 25 points you would of gone down to 0% and 3 points and need to get 7 more points before you go back to 5%. If you were on 10% then you would of gone back down to 5% and if you were on 15% then you would of gone to 5% and 10 points. But you can still use the card now. just keep using it until the day arrives when you go to use it and they say that it is no longer valid. As far as we are aware it will be sometime in December.

I think I saw a tv ad last night that said Bhs had 20% off Friday and Saturday? Don't know if it was just for our area, can't find anything on line about it, well not this one.

I will start writing my cards next week while o.h. is at work on late shift, usually leave things late and it costs more for postage, and have several to go abroad too.

by the way, Superdrug have their usual discount on first class stamps from now to Christmas Eve, I think the girl said.
