~Summer Scribe~ Report 24 Oct 2008 00:10

I notice that her Manager has said she shouldn't have gone on. Her husband is saying that it's because she took her meds too late the night before (which is fair enough but they then should have pulled out of the interview). And Phil Schofield has said that normally they get someone would sit down with the guest before hand and they would have been able to tell she wasn't up to it, but it didn't happen because she was running too late when she arrived. Had they realised they never would have let her go on air. So, I think the person I firmly blame is her husband; if he cared about her he would have said she wasn't up to it and made sure she didn't go on.

I don't hold her to blame in this instance, to be honest, the nature of mental health issues is that she's not fully responsible for her actions. Rather, the people around her should be taking better care of her not encouraging her like that.

Gremlin, I don't think she spent the money on the cosmetic surgery, I think the programme makers paid for it (though I might be wrong, I think that's how they usually work).

Maria Report 23 Oct 2008 23:55

Sadly that's another very typical symptom of bipolar.

It's not her who is in the wrong, it's the people in the background making money out of her one way or another.

InspectorGreenPen Report 23 Oct 2008 11:39

She was recently declared bankrupt in the High Court, having failed to pay her tax bils. Strangely a few days later she spent thousands of pounds on cosmetic surgery.

Perhaps she need to get her priotrities sorted.

TheBlackKnight Report 23 Oct 2008 11:17

She is a mother and she is such a careing mother, that she has had to go into rehab for drugs more then one. You can say it's because she is famous but thats no reason to act the way she does. If she cared about her children she would not do some of the silly things she does. Everybody has problems but most deal with them. Fame is a copout, It's part of her job that she herself chose to do. Much the same as any job that you or somebody you know have, they all have bad points, but you deal with them. It's about time she grows up once and for all. As somebody who is in the public eye she should act responsable and be somebody that young mothers can look upto.

They're making a bit of a statement now on This Morning.

JustJean Report 23 Oct 2008 07:06

I felt so sorry for her, I think her agent should be ashamed for exploiting her , she was in such a bad way, not drunk ,I know the medication has that effect, now the media will crucify her, like they did with brit spears, they dont give a thought to the children or the family. I do hope she gets the help she needs.....

~Summer Scribe~

~Summer Scribe~ Report 23 Oct 2008 02:00

I don't think she's drunk. She does seem distinctly manic so maybe her medication isn't working right (if she's taking it) or maybe she's self-medication with cocaine or speed. It's very sad, her management really shouldn't have let her do the interview. Poor woman.

Jane Report 22 Oct 2008 22:35

I think she was too jerky for it to be alcohol. To me that was drug related movements. Not that I am an expert ,but I don't think it was alcohol .I just felt rather sad that they did that interview.

Jessie aka Maddies mate Report 22 Oct 2008 22:26

Oh dear, I have just watched it and told myself before hand that I would judge it fairly and say if I thought it was medication, IMO it does seem as though she is drunk - yes the slurred words could be medication but for me it was the body language that made me think that she was drunk more than anything

I feel for her -

Jane Report 22 Oct 2008 22:00

They looked very awkard ,but did well under the circumstances.

Maria

Maria Report 22 Oct 2008 21:59

Yes Helen I agree with you.

But as Barbara said earlier, it sells papers and catches the attention of viewers.

Don't get me wrong, I feel for her and don't blame her at all. She shouldn't have been interviewed.

Grabagran Report 22 Oct 2008 21:57

Just watched this interview, and her management should be pulled over the coals for allowing her to do it.

Whatever the facts, it's clear the poor girl needs help and guidance, and I think Phillip and Fern handled it with tact and diplomacy.

MarionfromScotland

MarionfromScotland Report 22 Oct 2008 21:57

Thanks,I've just looked at it, :((
Not helping her self by appearing on tv.

Jane

Jane Report 22 Oct 2008 21:53

Broggy ,I totally agree with what you say ,but I do think that they should not have broadcast that interview this morning. It was obvious that Fern Britton and Phillip Schoffield were put in a very awkward position by interviewing her in the state she was.
The poor girl should not have been there.

Maria

Maria Report 22 Oct 2008 21:41

I'll apologise if I'm wrong but I was under the impression she'd been diagnosed bipolar, and had admitted to being addicted to coke & alcohol in the past.

These things unfortunately do very often go hand in hand, although they definitely don't go together well, and I'm not saying for 1 minute that all with bipolar have a drug habit, or vice versa.

But if that is the case, nobody will be able to "tell" her or advise her, and it won't be the effects of her daily diagnosed medication, it will be the effects of her "self-medication"

It's a horrible thing, but the people who really need telling are the dregs of society who sell the stuff.

Sorry to rant, it's all a bit close.

Love & strength to all who are fighting against similar demons

Muffyxx Report 22 Oct 2008 21:37

It wasn't really only her speech that was all out.......it was her actions and movements as well.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-1079666/VIDEO-Out-control-Kerry-Katona-slurs-way-interview-This-Morning.html

IF it was to do with the tablets she was on then they should've made their excuses and stopped her from appearing. This has done her no favours whatsoever. xx
