I have tried the 'getting mum sozzled' bit - but now she's on Warfarin it's 2 glasses a night full stop!!
Mum's in to genealogy, but obviously only from her backwards!
She won't tell me as much as I know she knows about my dad (they were divorced in 1974 and dad has since died), mind you my dad's mum was by all accounts a bit 'flighty' LOL
Two children out of wedlock etc
I've only 'established' who my dad's dad was because someone sent me a photo of a 'family friend' - who is the spitting image of him!! Dad knew him as his 'dad' when he was young - but he was already married to someone other than my gran!

Quite the interesting family there Maggie, maybe we should get you on WDYTYA and get them to do the hard stuff for ya? LOL

I wouldn't worry too much about the submitted entry, they already researched and checked it for him before he ever left england, it's only ever for show: them going through the motions, isn't it?!

There was a small article about WDYTYA in a recent family history magazine....

Boris Johnson's episode involved 4 months of preliminary research, consultations with 23 historians and three genealogists, and more than 40 hours of recorded footage.

Easy innit? lol

Must agree that it was a great programme, but they did not mention his Scottish conections, it was in the Sunday Post that at the very end of filming that they doscovered the link and did not have time to follow through, so Ainsley is doing that himself. wish we could see the out come of that.
