I've had a couple of requests, from people I don't know so in case there are from a couple of websites I use where they use board names I just message them asking where and how I know them.
Had one woman who said I thought we could be friends???? didn't know me from Adam!!!
And plesae don't anyone stop saying waht they're doing I use it to keep up to date with everyone lifes!!!

I had random peson send me a friend request once, who put in his message how he wanted to get to know women from the "Carribean", think a geography lesson is more what he needed.

I had someone want to be my friend yesterday and I don't recognise the name at all, so if someone from here has added me or whatever it is you do, and I have ignored them, please pm me and tell me who you are lol
I am not very good with all the Facebook stuff so hope people will excuse me if I seem to ignore them - I want to get my son to go through it with me some time but he is always so busy lol

I tend to add people who I know personally, or people who I know vaguely from other websites.

It's helped me to get to know some of you mad (but lovely) people on here better....lol....

Seriously though, it's nice to put names to some of the faces, or should that be faces to some of the names?

ps Got a new grandson 4 month ago.

Mums got a new chap - seems nice, but we'll see! Joe hasn't been too good, actually it's quite hard for her right now, and i've kicked hubby to the curb!!

Don't know where i'll be moving to, hope it's still in the local area as i want Jessie to stay at her school!

I only add family and friends from old school friends. if they send a request but certainly I wouldn't add anyone I didn't speak to first.

I always send a polite message to them (the ones i don't know) and say
''I'm sorry, i don't seem to recall you, could you tell me where i know you from?''

I had an old man from america request me last week, and on sending him the message he replied..
'' I don't actually know you, but i like what i see, if you like what you see maybe we can talk!''

If I get a friend request from someone I dont know, I tend to look & see if we have any shared friends to confirm who the person is and where I may know them from

Many have been rejected because all those other people I know who have added them have no idea who they are despite adding them.

So far Ive rejected and blocked, amongst others, a middle aged man who seemed to be going through my friend and family list (via a family member who also name collects from my list of friends (sad innit)

And a 14 year old persistant boy who kept on sending me invites until he got blocked.(he was also added by same family member who had no idea who he was silly woman)

If I add someone im aware of on another site but not spoken to much then they get to see a llimited profile.

I sometimes add people i don't know because we have a lot of mutual friends and i'm afraid that i actually do know them but have forgotten who they are. Especially if i check out their profile and we come from the same town or went to the same school at the same time.
Then when i've added them and realise that actually i don't know them i have to go to the bother of removing them again.

LOL, sometimes i think thats what people (strangers) look at, if they like the pic they want an add...
I have a friend who has people from all over the world on his - many of whom just want to be friends with him because of his job and profile pic!

And then, there are those who just want to appear to have loads of friends, like ''look how popular i am!'' - i'll NEVER be that shallow :-)
