Jill 2011 (aka Warrior Princess of Cilla!)

Jill 2011 (aka Warrior Princess of Cilla!) Report 15 Aug 2008 22:10

If one was born before midnight on the Tuesday and one born after she could call them:

Tuesday and Wednesday ...

I was going to suggest Peaches and Cream but that sounds a bit pop-singerish.

If I'd had a couple of daughters (instead of my one son) I would have called them:

Sarah and Lucy.

Or what about my mum and her sister - Alice and Rose.

But, I like the idea of naming them after some ancestors - they don't have to be on your direct line they could be from ancestors' siblings' marriages etc.

Good Morning, beautiful day here in Sunny Rhyl.

Yes I like the idea of re-using family names We have Thomas as a middle name running through the male side

Texted my niece this morning with Ruby and Rosie (didn't mention the Yorkies) and told her about all your kind suggestions, she is really touched.

Linda. Just a long shot, do you know any Rawlinson's from Bolton, Jacqueline and Clifford?

Remember, while some names might seem cute to us (ie holly & ivy or noelle & carol) kids can be cruel and they'll have to go through school with those name. Also, learning from my brothers who both had the same initials DJT it was a nightmare when it came to getting letters.

I like the idea of reusing family names, or feminising male family names. I discovered that Hannah in my mum's maternal line goes back nearly two hundred years. I'm sad that it will probably never be reused now that my nanna, the last on with it as a middle name, has died. Almost makes me want to have children of my own but then how on earth would I choose from all my family names.

So, I'll offer my family names to you for my nominations as I'm not likely to ever use them myself:

Hannah
Marie/Maria
Ellen
Grace
Hope (not in my tree but I think Hope and Grace go well together)
Rachel
Sophia
Emma
Sarah
Charlotte
Emily

Don't worry...I won't suggest Fanny even though I have several.
