Ok .....well I tried to get a marriage of George and Appley Jenks .......this may give us a clue as BMD give the maiden names ...but George and Appley/aptin dont show ....

WE HAVENT LOOKED AT THE1840 CENSUS AS WE DONT HAVE HER MAIDEN NAME AND LIKE I SAID DONT KNOW WHO THE MOTHER IS

The addresses also change from 1b to 55 ....so prehaps they moved to better or worse housing coz he changes his trade to

I think she is the same mother but useing different spelling ......in those days they often couldnt read let alone spell ..............
In the 1901 census she even changes her birth place ...was the lady born in this country ??.....have you looked her up in the 1840 census

IN 3 CENSUS RECORDS SHE HAS THE SAME FATHER BUT SHE HAS 3 DIFFERENT MOTHERS IT DOESNT SEEM TO MAKE ANY SENCE

Well Funny you say that coz ........I put my sons name into my Ancestry tree and Ancestry THEN registered him under HIS NEW name ........so possible if you have her on your tree that may be why

Bilston, I believe, comes under the reg district of Wolverhampton. Would be worth contacting them to check

i thouhgt it was a miss print too for the census but the problem is her parents

A well GRO won't be able to help you with that, you're far better off writing or ringing the reg office of where you think she was born.

The Jenks/Jinks could well have just been an enumerators error when they first wrote it down. Accents have lead to all kinds of spelling errors. Although my hiscocks line were originally hiscox but one of my cousins has documentation of the change apparently.
