jax, have to agree with everything said here, especially with what daff says. I am sure this is discriminatory and if the school governors are agreeing with the ehad I would go to the education authority, the Welsh Assembly and the newspapers and even the local TV. but I would also let them do the sponsored walk because to not allow them to do so will make them feel even more excluded. Children enjoy things like that. and Daffs banner is a good idea, but held by a parent not a child. assuming parents will be there. Something like "Our children, raising money to send oter children on day trips" |

I would obtain the special needs policy from your school, you are intitled to see it. Phone the local education authority first thein monday morning then take it from there. |

lol Gossip Girl..... you (the universal you here, lol) generally do a wonderful and often thankless job... I was once the fundraiser on the schoolboard, as the schools token rep, lol.... I worked with special needs youngsters. Our poor Governer went through the mill many a time..... think back to The Children Act and the early days, a residential MLD school where staff had been allowed to hit youngsters, just for starters.... they gave the poor man hell before they accepted the changes... or moved on! |
