Male urine only. They have the equipment to make weeing in a compost bin possible and their urine doesn't contain oestrogens which apparently isn't good for compost.

Lots of good advice, dont forget to stir the contents of bin every once in a while. Dont really like not having open base, can see the heap getting very wet and smelly. We have a compost bin and a separate wormery which takes kitchen rubbish, not cooked. Bin gets grass cuttings, shrub and plant remnants, some paper. You can compost shredded paper. It will all seem to disappear in a very short time when it gets warm. Jean PS Dont worry about the small white insects you will get, they are harmless.

best to shred branches and twigs or they will take a long time to decompose

add water if it looks dry no cooked food , worms are good they help to decompose the matter quicker

and wee is really good, my brother used to wee on mums roses after a night out, when he left home they where never as good as when he lived there.

HRH-don't think my non too friendly neighbours would take kindly to my peeing on the compost heap!!!!
My cats however pee all day there --all good stuff !!

You don't really need the powder - worm food.
You only need holes in the bottom if it is placed directly on the ground so that common or garden worms can get in. Without the worms it simply will not work - all the advice about what to put in is sadly lacking the most important component - worms! What do you think compost actually is?

You are better off with a specially made composter with several layers which you can rotate - and an outlet for the liquid which is also produced and is great for things like tomatoes.
You can also buy worms specifically for composting - usually dendras or reds.

you get a powder you spread over too, helps it break down.Cant remember what you call it though.

Daft skite,no way will you be able to turn wood into compost lol.
Compost is made by rotting down leaves,fruit peelings [not potato skins]grass trimmings ,hedge trimmings [not fir though],crushed egg shells,torn up newspaper [in moderation],and shredded cardboard.
Done in thin layers in a composter ,adding garotta ,you will have some good compost within twelve months.
Huh,wood indeed ,all you will have is splinters in your skin.he he.Fred.
