Just read this. Maybe she has something stuck in her gut, ie elastic band, toy etc.

* I must be getting back to normal* :))

Stray - that's encouraging to hear, that she doesn't go far. :-))

Maddie - yes! I think so too lol. Pep is the only 3-legged feline in our cul-de-sac (there's quite a lot of cats here) but he's afraid of nothing! Only cars, lol. My little lion, he is.

If your cat was flea and worm treated a few days ago perhaps it is having a reaction to the chemicals ?

As Maddicow said - make sure she a fresh water and keep an eye on her. Try gently "pinching" her skin - like the vet does when they give them an injection and if it returns slowly she is dehdrated so you need to keep a close eye on her and maybe a trip to vet. My cat sometimes pukes for no apparent reason and we have put it down to him scoffing his food really quickly as he was a rescue and even after 7 yeras he still thinks that if he doesnt eat then and there it will go then he pukes it back up again !!! Nice ! The only other thing that you can check is that she hasnt got anything obvious stuck in her mouth or throat. Katalax is great stuff ! She may have a tummy bug in which case feeding her little and often and something bland like some chicken or some fish in water or oil, not brine. If she is happy in herself, just keep an eye on her you will know when you need to seek vet help. X Pets they are such a worry !!!

Maddiecow

Maddiecow Report 29 Apr 2008 22:23

If you do go to the vet - scoop some sick up in a zip lock freezer bag and take it with you. Sounds gross but we always do it and the other if they are not well.

I trust you have insured her? If not you could do a lot worse mine only cost between a fiver and eight quid a month each.

Glenys the Menace! Report 29 Apr 2008 22:15

Do you know if she's had any trauma to her abdomen in the past? Pepper was knocked down by a car and lost a leg a couple of years ago, and has recently been diagnosed with pancreatitis. He's comfortable, and we give him regular medication. Better still, he has a great quality of life!

It might be worth the vet having a look at her, and feeling her gut. Sorry, not trying to sound worrying, it just sounds a bit like Pep was.
Keep us posted, won't you.
(((Gentle hug))) for Missy.

Ooh, just thought: with the possibility of furballs, don't they suggest giving a cat some liquid parafin? Check on that, but I'm sure I saw it somewhere (Gawd, I hope so, otherwise I've just made a right prat of myself! lol)

Shirley~I,m getting the hang of it Report 29 Apr 2008 22:12

she might still have a fur ball that isnt coming up .you can try Katalax which is good one. My vet recommended it for our cat cos she was being sick but only bringing up food. She eventually after treatment with katalax brought up an enormous long bomb of matted gunk fur.

Maddiecow

Maddiecow Report 29 Apr 2008 22:12

I'd starve her overnight but let her have water. You know the bit of her neck where a mother cat would pick her up from? Lift up the fur in a pinch (not to hurt) and let it drop - does it drop back to normal quickly? If it takes a long time she is also dehydrated and you need to take it more seriously -if it goes back almost right away its not so bad.

Most animals this time of year are shedding their fur - try mixing some hairball biscuits in her food, also fleas are coming about this time of year and lots of cats (dont laugh) are allergic to them - when was she last given advantage or similar?
