I’m off to a land where the sun always shines
Far away from GR and the whinges and whines.
The ghosts and the ghoulies, the nasties , the flames
And the people that post using wondrous names!
The sad and the mad, the strange and the weird
The bullies and trolls that make themselves feared,
Irrelevant threads where we all scratch our head
And wonder if things may be best left unsaid.

The mind numbing posts that ask you your name
Then make a new word using letters the same
And positive thoughts and cuddles and hugs
That fly round the room like jet propelled bugs!
Virtual parties with biscuits and tea -
Am I all alone and can nobody see
That this is the internet – nothing is real
It’s all make believe – you can’t touch or feel.

A man with a chainsaw may cut off your arm
But words on a screen- they cannot cause harm!
Cries of outrage echo around
If anyone dares to make but a sound
That disagrees with the bland and the twee
And the boring and pointless that no one can see.
And the bans and the flames and the cliques and the fight
About threads with strange names like Malice and Spite! :-)

The reason I joined was my family tree
To trace long lost aunties and uncles, you see.
Not to read threads about miserable things
And obscure songs that nobody sings.
So this is my story, it’s sad but it’s true
I thought I would tell you before pastures new
Beckon and wave to a future that’s bright
I can certainly say Genes did not Reunite!

I'm glad I got to meet him in person before he jet's off.....who knows whether he'll come back but he will stay in touch I'm sure.......

He's as funny & witty in person as he is online n can even wind you up as he does here....not knowing whether what he's saying is a joke or reality....thats whats unique about him.

Personally I think he'll miss us all too much n will be back in full glory...lol
