I am Norfolk born and bred from a Norfolk woman and Bucks man, but this sort of rings a bell, altho not something my family did. My Mum had a really sweet tooth so she would have done it if she had known about it I am sure lol |

I've never heard of lettuce with sugar, - I was brought up in Hampshire. but always thought it strange when a friend's mother gave us cut up tomatoes with sugar on, if I stayed there for tea. |
