I am boring, never done anything exciting, okay spent ten years in the Navy but nothing exciting happened oh yes before that 2 years in the police...boring.
So I decide to research my family tree and 3 years on have come to the conclusion that my family are all....boring.
No famous relatives
No criminals
No spies
just boring boring relatives who were all farmers or sailors

AAhhh, boring you may say, but look behind what you see, how far have you gone back?
with my "LEAR" line, the name has many variations, we are currently looking at Leichester (England)
a variation of the name is "LEIR", there is a hint of Leichester being put in place by someone of the line way way back, but all we have at the moment is coalminers in England.

Colin,

The only time one is boring is when one says nothing. So your Navy and Police career were boring, but to me as a member of the public your duties kept me safe.

98% of my researched ancestors were Ag. Labs. Dock workers, Sewage workers, but again, without those occupations where would we be.

Chin up sunshine.

mine are all ag labs on mother's side and tinplate workers on dad's side. One of my mother's rellies was transported to Oz in 1833 for sending a threatening letter to his employer - poor sod, don't know if he survived the trip or not or what happened to him

Ann,

At least your rellie transpoted to Oz brings colour to your family tree, my rellies couldn't be bothered to venture out of Norfolk. did have one gg grandafther who managed to get himself shipwrecked twice but even that story is mundane...I need excitement in my tree I need to know I am the great great nephew (at the very least) of someone important or someone who caused mayhem.

there's a fair bit of colour I can tell you - have an aunt who was jailed for being an accessory to murder - in my lifetime too! all over the News of the World it was - Mum was moritifed!!

Ooh Ann, that is interesting, I had it on very good authority that my dad had a criminal record in the 1950's...he did...fined 10/- for cycling without lights!
