	Is the blue wireless button lit up - I think it is near the front of the keyboard or possibly on the front edge

	It is quite possible that you have inadvertently turned wan (wireless area network) off on your laptop.

This will determine if it is a problem with your wireless adaptor or not. If you can connect with it wired, then the adaptor is the problem. What to do about it is the next question and I don't know the answer, mine was ok

	What make and model (full model number, if possible) is your laptop? Same question for your wireless router. Who is your ISP?

	Don't keep trying System Restore - it is not the cure all that everyone seems to think it is. Are you using wifi?

Member Since: January 2003 Posts: 865 Send Message	Anyone, anyone out there who might be able to help?? The laptop wont go online. I have tried to do a system resore but it wont work keeps telling me 'system restore di not completw successfully...............' I have tried different restore points but it wont do it. I cannot connect the lappy to the internet. Its running on Vista. It says connection not working but when I try to diagnose the problem it wont let me run the Network Diagnostic 'because the diagnostic policy service is not running'. I am going to go demented as the kids and I all have research/work to do and I was getting more time on the desktop when the 2 eldest bought their own lappys now I am back to fighting for time... Any ideas gratefully accepted. love Theresa
