He has made it through six weeks

OMG his Mum just said I hope he has recovered and strong enough to work !!!!!

I hope they manage to remove more at a later date for him

Bless him, all he is worried about is being a dutiful son!

They removed 5kg, so about 11lbs of tumor, do hope they can do more for him ;;

neurofibromatosis is fairly common actually - I have it in it's mildest form - didn't find out for about fifty years and have no idea where it came from - have some small tumours which I always though were some kind of warts - have had a few removed from around my waist because they caused discomfort in that area

They said that he had 25 kg originally & they hoped to move 80%
15 kg left to remove

A customer I knew at work has them on her face.....that is how I noticed that his Mother had them also

I watched it with my 14 year old - what a humbling experience for us both. The man showed such courage and dignity!
My son said he felt so lucky to be healthy!

thanks for that Babs - I nearly died when I discovered what it was!!! my GP obviously didn't know but when I went to see the skin specialist she got very excited and called lots of her colleagues in to look at my back - she stupidly didn't tell me why but when she saw my face she apologised profusely and explained what it was and that I had all the classic signs - you get these marks called cafe-au-lait marks which are light coffee coloured patches - hardly noticeable if you're not aware of them and apparently they don't get to see them too often!! I think it must have come through my Mum cos sadly she had no idea who her father was so could have been from him - I'll never know but grateful it is so mild.

It was, I do try and get my son to sit and watch programs like that..................I makes them realise that we are very fortunate and that you shouldn't judge on looks alone.

But still think the pig slaughter was totally uncalled for

It makes most of our every days problems seem so tiny in comparison and always makes my think of that phrase 'There but for the grace of God go I'

What a humbling programme, and what a remarkable man. I do hope he has a better quality of life after having more surgery. Poor love, I cried for him.

I, too, was shocked at the poor pig being slaughtered. But then, why should we be shielded from seeing it? It happens, and the poor pig suffered; she wasn't even stunned beforehand. It was awful (I cried for her, too).

Glenys I think I was more shocked over the pig as my son was sat with me and I wasn't aware before hand that it was to be shown ( should read up first lol ) and as it was after the watershed I should have been more prepared.........................

BUT my son did say "thats why so many people don't eat meat"..............how true !!
