I honestly never ever read Anne of Green Gables and just stuck Green Gables on my name on a mere whim - she does have an unfortunate way of trying to be funny - sad innit!!

Oh Blimey..gonna get shot now but ...here goes anyway...
English translation ....
Kathryn says Anne of Green gables in the book always made a point of the "E" on the end of her name.. was a snobbery thing .Kathryn is right on this also she is saying it,s nice that someone with this board name should post a thread about world book reading day ...
OK she is very very good at illiterating .. just not very good at conversing on this subject without offending...
Waits to be shot !!!!

right, now speaking as a humourless miserably griping person I would like to get back to "National No Housework Day" which I have designated as tomorrow. So that means no housework for anyone in the UK tomorrow!

Kathryn - you are unbelievable - I am far from being a miserable humourless griper - how dare you!! I realised you were kidding, if others didn't. At first I thought "what a cheek" and then I thought, no, she's kidding. You really do have a very unfortunate way of coming across, you must have realised that by now and at the very least I think I deserve an apology for such an unwarranted tirade.

kathryn B.
I think you underestimate your fellow posters .Ann (wiv an E) for your benefit ...of Green gables is a late historical novel .. bit of a AG lab Diary to us in the UK ...ohhh sorry
I think your reference to the e was tongue in cheek and taken as such ..

lol Dingbat I have a freind that places a towel under her sofa cushions puts the sheets folded flat on top and sits on them to 'iron' them.

Unfortunatly my chair cushions dont come off as recliners.

Or I could have done that and read book and ironed at same time :)

Merlin38 Report 6 Mar 2008 20:45

If you got a really hot novel, couldn't you kill 2 birds with one stone and use that to do the ironing?
