Brian, don't need to disguise urls anymore. :-) happy days.

lol Joy, she was raised over that way, near Consett, so when ever she gets within ten paces of a remotely north east accent...the geordie comes out! Y'd never know it to look at her ;-) lol.

~Summer Scribe~ Report 28 Feb 2008 21:54

very true, Joy, lol. Trouble is, I've only ever been over there for short visits (3 days max) and if I'm around my uncle and his family too long I start to develop one too. I'm thinking it's some kind of predetermined genetics lmao.

I just had a terrible thought, we're planning a trip to Chippenham later in the year, I hope like hell I don't start talking like them. Dad's a moonraker as they say, he's been gone from there so long that you'd never know it, but he can push it out when he wants. I'm worried now.

~Summer Scribe~ Report 28 Feb 2008 22:02

mmhmm nothing like a geordie, man. (just heard that in my auntie jean's accent lol).

Never actually called you one though... (I'm not that crazy lol) ;-) just said that the north east accent triggers an almost pavlovian response in mum and out comes 'her' geordie accent. lmao.

~Summer Scribe~ Report 28 Feb 2008 22:03

And, by remotely, I mean anything east of carlisle lmao

Reckon she'd talk with it all the time if she could get away with it lol.

Didn't get ours out, it's draped around living room.

New towels they were half price in wilkinsons and as mum works there got staff discount too. Two sets of three towels each only £12..can't be bad. Can now chuck out the old ratty ones from uni... if I can bring myself too. lol...ok...they'll be going to the charity bins instead as I'm sure someone will be able to find use for them.
