Mine proposed soon after we first met, well we had known each other 20 years before when he went out with a friend and neighbour of mine, but had only recently met up again, both single. He said, Can I be your first husband? I said Ask me in ten years time! Thank goodness he has a rubbish memory cos if he had asked in 2006 I would have said No. In fact, now I think about it he has said over the last few years, are we going to get married and I just pmsl and say no way!

We were engaged after three months. Our engagement on my 21st birthday, he had said shall we get engaged on your birthday? I thought the ring would be a nice pressie. After that oh started to say when we get married..........I can't ever remember him actually asking me to marry him!

we were laid in bed two days after me sis wedding and he says do u wana get maried (knowing he didnt )
i says well id like to one day but im not to bothered
he says no i said do you wana get married
again i says well i would like to one day but im not to bothered
so he looked at me and said im asking you do you wana get maried
i said yes he said well keep it to ourselves for now
i said ok im goin to get a drink. runs down stairs tells me mam as he walked int he door saying ok we wont keep it quiet lmao

We taught in the same school and it was the AGM of the PTA that evening. He asked if I wanted to go back to his flat for a meal first (he was really good at having meals ready in a slow cooker).

He told me later he had intended to wait a few weeks and propose on top of a tor on Dartmoor but he decided to ask on the spur of the moment!

We nearly didn't bother to go back to the meeting....we didn't tell the rest of the staff for a week. I think only the school cleaner had realised we were going out together. Not sure why no one spotted that a red rose was being left on my desk in the mornings!

OH proposed to me 14 years ago with a lovely ring and it was such a lovely surprise. We never got married, he took the ring back last year. I am so hopeful that he will give it back this year.

We were in Feurtavenura and my OH stopped at a jewellers and pointed to the most ugly Huge gawdy ring in window and said - how about i buy you that?

I said you must be joking its awful and laughed myself silly and dragged him on to the restuarant we were going to.

He was v quiet over meal and I then realised he was serious!!

I then spent time secretly scouring the shops for something more me - more subtle .... on the last night I draggedhim out to a coffee bar just before ten and ordered a brandy!!! After brandy - I took him to jewellers opposite and pointed to smaller more dainty ring and said thats more me.

He went in bought it and then got down on one knee by the pool about 11pm that night.

i propossed to my oh 8 years ago this year(it was a leap year) we had just been to look at a pub we wanted to buy and i said that if he wanted the pub then we would have to get married which we did 8 weeks later and we bought the pub a week later
