it was 1976 v v hot weather. Gone one in the morning, sitting on a park bench, he asked me please marry me. We got engaged on my 21st Birthday, married three years later (had to make sure you understand) been married now 28 years.

How much longer you lot going to be talking about marr**ge ?
I will need medication soon if you don't stop !

Three weeks after I started seeing my brothers 'best mate',he asked if I fancied going to Paris for Valentines day. He asked if I wanted to get engaged while we were there......

I said Yes to Paris,Yes to the engagement and we actually got engaged at the top of the Eiffel Tower and got married 3 months later!

It will be our 10th wedding anniversary in May!

Hi Caz,

my OH proposed on Xmas day, 1996 after Xmas dinner. He gae me loads of pressies with special messages on them, and the final one was a 3 diamond ring in a box, he then proposed.....very romantic..xx

i have had 4 proposals over the years and although i said yes to three of them only 2 made it as far as a wedding, none of them were especially romantic, but each special in its own way

well deanna im glad my grandad didnt use that 1 other wise i wouldnt ave been here lol

About three weeks after meeting, the first hint about us getting married was at a party on board an RN minesweeper in Malta, then the real proposal came shortly afterwards on a balcony overlooking the moonlit bay of St. Julians.
I kept him waiting for a week and then in the midst of a conversation in his open-topped sports car, I said I would marry him as he was driving down a hill in the middle of Sliema in Malta.
He very nearly drove into a football stadium at the bottom of the hill!
He and my Mum chose my engagement ring as she just 'happened' to be in the jeweller's shop when we arrived..
It is our 38th wedding anniversary this year on 08.08.08!!
I hope the Chinese belief that 8 is a very lucky number is true!

to be honest neither of us proposed to each other - it just happened - meant to be!!!!

In a local nightclub owned by a famous telly person of the time. (Clue: Cannon & Ball!!!!!!) He did the asking over the DJ console then got the autograph from the famous person and gave it to me.

We sort of drifted into being a couple at school a
few of us used to hang out,one by one the
others left but we stayed together,looking at
some furniture shops one day he said is that the
sort of stuff we are having when we get married,
so I said yes,engagement ring cost
£14=10 shillings (old money)had a few more
since then!!

OH proposed on a weekend away near Stonehenge. It was the first time he had managed to get over to the UK as he was stationed in Korea for a number of years.
He deff has a way with words, first time I had had something so romantic said to me in person!!!
