Everyone seems to agree on here.

It's nothing to do with anyone except you and Malc.

Enjoy your day

How inconsiderate of people to upset you like that. Its is your day and NO ONE should critisize what you want to do.
Ignore them all and if it continues I would just say well don't come if your not happy with the venue. Would be less money you would have to spend on the reception. More to spend on yourselves.
Hope it all goes well for you both anyway and enjoy your years of happiness together

Hope your bet on the Greyhound wins if there is a race on the Day lol
Regards
Jackie

Tell them that if they dont like it dont come!! That will keep the costs down too!

Its your day spend it with those you love and who make you happy.

At least you managed to get three venues Malc - Im still trying to sort mine - these places seem never to come back to me.

I have never ever heard of such nonsense - the bride/groom/parents arrange a wedding and reception - such as they can afford. The buttonholes are only provided for the ushers/bride and groom's immediate families. As to £65 for accommodation - they either pay it or make their own arrangements - or stay away. You have already changed the venue 3 times for goodness sake. Stop trying to please everyone - in the end you will please nobody. All that is really needed is yourselves and two witnesses - whether you marry in church or registry office. Do what suits you and Malc - forget everyone else - and stick to it. Tell them anymore hassle and it will be a twosome plus 2 witnesses. Think of the wonderful things you could do with all the money you save!!!!!! You do not need pressies! I hate to say it but they sound like a selfcentred pack of so and so's. You have had your troubles and worries over the past months. Enjoy yourselves and best wishes and happiness to you both.

Forgot to say of course you wear your wedding dress to reception - whoever heard of a bride changing BEFORE the reception. I never did.
