It's your wedding don't let others decide how you spend your special day.When i got married it was a jeans and tee shirt wedding in church. We still had guests fork out pounds for new suits and dresses. We still got married and enjoyed our day.

Its a pity that when someone is like yourself and willing to try and change or compromise to make everyone happy,that people take advantage to try and get there own way.
Everyone is right,this is one of the very few days in a persons life that you get to have things all your own way

We were going to marry in church and thats when the arguments started i was lapsed catholic oh was church of england everyone had to put their twopennorth ended up cancelled it and just buggared off to registeru office with two best friends as witnesses then invited all family out to pub at night.
we have been married 41 years in April.

Have to agree with what everyone else has said. It is your BIG day and you should spend it how you both want.

I had endless problems with my wedding, neither of our parents were there....So what!

We did what we wanted to and thirty years later are still together..

Do your own thing girl...and in years to come you will know that your wedding day was a happy one...

It is yours and Malcs day Jackie do whatever it is that you want. If they don't like it they can stay away. I guarentee (spl?:-) you won't miss them,
something on the same lines happened at my daughters ended up none of my brothers family came you know we didn't miss them one bit. It was a lovely day even though it was my daughters day I still get goose bumps thinking about it.
So forget them concentrate on yourselves.

Oh Jackie, don't you know you should never try to please the rest... the only person you have to worry about pleasing is your OH. It is your wedding after all and no one else's.

I think those people making a fuss are very selfish.
Go through everything you have arranged, make sure it is what you want and only you, and then confirm it all. Tell the guests that you have made the final decisions as it is your special day and if they don't like it, they can lump it!
Then go ahead and have a super day, wear your dress as long as you feel comfy.
Hope you find time to enjoy yourselves, on the day, stop and take a breath every now and then to let it all sink in.
