I bathed with my son til he was about 4 I think, had new baby then and bathed with her til she was 5. Then had another baby but cant bathe with her as she tries to walk all over me! I cant understand why people don't like it; it's a lovely bonding session, plus lots of fun, if you're prepared to clean up all the water afterwards lol. People get too silly over things these days.

Krystyna...do you think someone could be jealous of the bond you have with your 7 year old

Hi Krystyna.

I've never bathed with my girls - not that I'm against it
... just that I prefer to bath on my own.... its my one bit of *me* time. Though they do pop in and out whilst I'm in there despite that lol.

OH has never bathed with the girls.... said it doesn't feel right for him...... and that's cool with me. We're not particularly prudish...... but he doesn't think it's right for the girls to seem him without clothes which is fair enough.
xx
Different strokes for different folks I think xx

sounds like to me krystyna there are some narrow minded people out there that always like to turn something innocent into something else

theres nothing wrong with having a bath with your child

Your responses so far have been fantastic. Thank you so much. I have been called a sicko and disgusting because my 7 year old son jumps in the bath with me, so to see that i'm not the only one has lifted my spirits.

i have two sons a 6 year old and a 3 year old they usually bath together but more often than not they will both get in the bath with me.

our house is like a mad house as soon as the kids notice that one of use are in the bath they carn't jump in quick enough.

as they are both boys they do get in with there dad

oh said if we had a girl he would only have her in the bath up until she's old enough to notice things.

but we would still put her in the bath with our two son's.

Sally

I know what you are saying at the end, it was the same with my Dad...he would bath us when we were little, but when i asked him once when we went swimming if he would take my son to dry off as i had my daughter, he wouldn't because he was frightened someone would say something

Just a light-hearted note,
when we had our batroom re-done two years ago, I wanted a double ended bath,
I had visions of me and hubby soaking away(now kids gone) drinking wine, lighted candles etc, etc, you know what I' talkin bout girls...

Ha Ha , well I was first trying bath out. I am only 5'9'' but I couldnt fit in the thing.......... my feet were up by taps.... so we 'wipped' that out and put normal one in!!!
The other bath is still on garden waiting for a good use!!!

I don't disaprove but it wasn't something I ever wanted to do. I loved my children's bath times and it was always a game to see if they could soak me while I was the other side of the bath. My bathtime was my peace and quiet time.

In the 70's when the kids were little, OH would always have a bath when he came home from work, and thought nothing of putting our daughter in for him to bath at the same time, then I would dry her off whilst he bathed the baby.......killed 3 birds with one stone, so to speak......

I think my daughter was about 4 and making comments and he was embarrassed ....... then our daughter and son bathed together, and later our youngest joined in......and I have lovely photos of 3 kids in the bath with their bubbles.....I think my daughter was 8 when they stopped having baths together......

It was all to do with saving money on heating etc.....
and they would all have their nightclothes on and know it was time for bed.......

Mind you when we bath our grandchildren, my husband wont dry off our granddaughters, whereas he had no problem with our daughter.......it is such a shame that those innocent times have gone.....

When my kids were small they would come in the bath with me if they wanted. They no longer get in the bath with me but have been known to come in for a chat when im in the bath and I see no problem with that.

If they ask me questions I answer them honestly with the help of me ever faithful how my body works books lol

I was ok with mine till they were about 2 then they got nosey..that was the end of that lol.

I think it's ok for parents to share when they are little.
but to be honest I dont think it's very hygienic :((
Thats my opinion.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion cmd. I knew there would be some against it and accept that. Thanks for your input.

When my kids were babies, they had a bath every night in their little baby baths.
Anyway when they were abit bigger up to about two they sometimes loved to get in the bath with me or their dad, we had such fun, playing water games, 'row row the boat' etc, I have many happy memories of the fun and laughter we had...
However they themselves decided they wanted to have a bath on their own. so that was that..
I personally do not like the idea that older children should see their parents without clothes on.. I am not a prood. but I do not think its dignified..
I had a friend when I was young, whose father used to walk around in the nude, she was mortified....and is even embarrased now... well actaully she has nothing to do with her parents at all now...

as you all now, I love my bible, and that says that you should'nt look upon the nakedness of your father and mother...
just my opinion
