This thread wasnt put up, aimed at anyone, it was a general thought about how we treat each other, little " nice " Lynn was just trying to keep the peace and show that i do care what goes on on this board,
I asked that we all, think of how we act and treat each other and try to be kind even if we dont like !!!

I have never been anything other that well mannered, pleasant none arguementative, and thoughtful on here, same as i try to be in life,

If anyone is going to comment on here, please read the whole thread, and if if gets unpleasant in anyway i sure as houses will whip it off mightly quickly

and Gwynne, yes you are a "special friend " but even if you werent, i would still admire you, you are a good, sincere and truthful lady

I didnt see anything last night (( then again a was tired))..............so sorry people have been disappointed and hurt.
Maybe all us older members should try to get the boards back to a little of what they were like.

Hi BC

Over the years, I have seen Budgie come wading in with his thoughtless remarks. I don't suppose for one minute that he's read the whole thread through before posting. He then comes along and says that people have misunderstood what he's saying.

Sorry, but I'm really cross because he's upset a lovely person and if he'd bothered to read the whole thread, he'd realise why. He just likes to come along and stick his oar in now and again, just like he stirred on the GC Photos Page site. If he thinks that GR isn't what it used to be, then he should flipping well stay away.

Good morning all. Gwynne, I am sure neither Budgie nor Laptop Dancer meant to have a go at you. Their comments were in general, I am sure. We all know that you are a peacekeeper and a nice person. BC XX

Budgie

Yet again you come wading in with your snide remarks, and then next you'll be trying to say that people are taking you the wrong way.

Why post that on a thread that is trying to make and keep the peace? There are some really lovely, genuine people on this site and idiots like you who open their mouths without putting their brain in gear upset them.

Shame on you.

Guinevere Report 13 Feb 2008 09:43

Well, Budgie, why did you feel the need to post that?

If you think I have ever been abusive please tell me when. For years I've tried to keep the peace on the boards.

I've never had a post deleted, never sent or received a nasty pm.

I'm actually a nice person, Budgie, and I don't deserve snide remarks from you.

Ive been a peacekeeper on the boards for a long long time and seen many a frustration build up over that time because someone or another has never been allowed to put the way they feel accross.

I tend to listen before I make a comment, look for solutions and mediate where people allow it to.
Rarely do I become involved in heated discussion unless I feel the need to defend and then I defend without fear or favour.

There has been a divide for some time now and I have repeatedly stated that this place is big enough for everyone, all they need to do is make their own space, enjoy that space and not cross into anothers space to deliberately wind up another. We can all see that happens and it sometimes becomes embarrassing to so that we feel uncomfortable.

On the whole this site has always been a lovely place to spend sometme with friends or meet and get to know people.

Everyones lovely in their own particular way, :):)

If I post a thread and do not like the way it's going I delete it. If I start a conversation I feel I have the right to end it !
Quite a few people will add innocently to a thread asking it to stop but of course that is only adding to the abuser's ego !
Maybe GR should issue us with stun guns !

Guinevere

Guinevere Report 13 Feb 2008 08:25

Thank you for clarifying that, LD.

Unfortunately, a few people enjoy the spite so that will never happen.

Gwynne

LD

LD Report 13 Feb 2008 08:15

Guinevere I wasn't implying that you had ! (another example of how a post can be misunderstood)
It was merely a suggestion to all that if a thread becomes undesirable then people should delete their posts and very soon the abuser is shouting down an empty tunnel.
(It was use of the royal "you")

Guinevere

Guinevere Report 13 Feb 2008 08:12

I have never written anything abusive on these boards, Laptop Dancer. Your post could imply that I have. I was commenting on a thread I read and to which I didn't add.

And I have said before, it takes at least two people to argue. If you feel a uncomfortable situation starting, delete your post and withdraw from the thread !

Thanks, friends, and thanks also for the pms which arrived after I went to bed.

I'm not leaving GR, I just don't feel comfortable posting here at the moment.

I know I'm not alone in that feeling which is a help.
