What horrid windows this house has.. they don't look substantial

Going back to the Bournemouth one that I mentioned before, they had one particularly lovely feature (in my opinion!).

There was a wall between the hallway and the lounge which couldn't be removed, so they cut a big hole in the middle and inserted a huge fishtank. As you walked into the hallway, you could see straight through the fishtank to the lounge and right on out through the lounge window to the sea. It was beautiful.

I love it but I must admit tonights is all a bit freaky for me!

Last weeks was 'interesting'. The kitchen was a long walk from one end to the other - 8 metres , suppose it would keeo you fit.

I liked the glass too, not seen that before.

Yes... and how long woll it take the children to knock the gargoyles off LOL,,, They do look a bit menacing.

Taping it because we are watching England play....

I love grand designs, but last weeks one with that tap costing £1,000.......I did like the bedroom glass that changed from clear to opaque with the touch of a switch......that was a dream of mine for the future.....a window where you could change the scenes outside......like a television between glass.....you could have the seashore and kids playing on the beach and seagulls and such.....or a country scene......or even a football match playing outside your living room window......and at night, just switch it to dark glass......or net curtain design during the day.......its got to come....

I didn't really see the point of the hanging fire.....but beauty is in the eye....etc.etc........I did like the landscaping in the garden.......not sure about the wall next to the pool......it did look a bit like a box.....a bit 60's modernist really......but its good to see other people's ideas.....

She just said the boys would love the gargoyles - at £400 a pop, I reckon they'd still rather have a Playstation pmsl!

The kids'll be scared rigid! lol

That annoyed me too, Tina! If my child was struggling in a low-paid job or unavoidable circumstances etc, then we would do everything we could to help him out. But not if he took on a hare-brained idea like this without having proper building and financial advice!

They had an original budget of £250,000 but £30,000 of that was a staircase! I could understand spending that amount on a staircase in a house that was £2-3 million, but that's over 10% of their budget.

The wife has just said that they were nearly at the point of handing it all back to the bank - and the husband's been and ordered 8 more handcarved gargoyles at £400 each! I've have flipping killed him lol!

Mandy and Tuna.....was discussing Kevin's doom and gloom approach with an architect friend of ours the other day and saying how he gets on our pip.....cos he always loves it in the end! lol
