Same thing happened to my niece last month. Luckily she'd not gone in on her own though. Trouble is, there isn't much the hospital can do if they're not ready - they haven't got the beds to spare.

Mildred
My brother was at home with their two year old daughter unaware they were sending her home. Had she rung him he would have told her to get a taxi. Her family live down south which leaves my 70 year old mum...who doesn't drive

I suppose if shes got a low risk pregnancy and if baby is happy where it is there was no need to admit her or induce her (Its not nice being induced)

Can I ask where your brother was at the time as I cant understand why he couldnt have collected her to bring her home, or for the matter any other family member who would have stepped in to escort her safely back home.

BTW when I was in for high blood pressure at 29 weeks, there was a woman in the next bed, groaning & shouting, curtains pulled, nurses popping in and out....I heard a midwife say to the partner *.Oh shes not in labour yet*

Made me feel quite faint lol

My brothers partner went into slow labour last friday morning. She went to the Queens Medical Hospital to be told "go home and come back tomorrow"...so sat afternoon she went back...they checked her over then left her for hours on her own so she went home...again...on her own and on the bus at 11pm sat night after being told "if nothing has happened by tuesday morning come back and we will induce you".
She went back this morning and was told...."go home and come back thursday if nothing happens in the meantime and we will do it then because we are busy"!!!!! What kind of flaming hospital are they runnung there??? This is doing mother and baby no good at all.

Sorry but I needed to let off steam!
