William George Monk married Harriet Dawes on 10th May 1860 at Higham, Gloucestershire. So if that is the right one, perhaps Walter was Walter George, not Griffiths. Can't find anything for Thomas Emery and Sara, remind me of the most likely dates please. Jan. |

Only just found your message as I was busy this morning. I'll have a look, Monks instead of Moons will make a change anyway. Hope you're feeling better, keep warm, and make everyone else do all the work for you. Jan |

hi jan, sorry i havnt posted for a couple of days but have been ill.....although hubby has been busy i see lol.....anyway william monk..wife harriett born approx 1832 do u think her last name was griffths?? can you find a harriett griffths born then in twyning bristol that is i assume i found her death(i think) in 1899 aged 67 in bristol. i reckon they married b4 1832 as thats when their first child was born. can you find a thomas emery ( barnstaple) marrying a sara(born in cheltenham). im guessing here from your research that they are thomas emery's parents. have fun..im off back to bed debbi x |

Briefly, William Monk and family in the 1881 Census (to find Walter Griffiths Monk for you). Thomas Emery and family in 1891. Annie Newcombe in 1891. John Beresford Robinson and Elizabeth Courtney in 1881 and 1891. Plus a kingdom full of Kingdons. Jan. |

I think we are all incredibly lucky to have stumbled across GC and as a result found so much help, support and goodwill. I'd like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has helped or prompted me with my research (which is still very much in it's infancy!!) to date. Because of the help I have already received I feel more confident that I will manage to find out more and more!! Sincere thanks Eleanor x |
