Ann Thanks for that, and for an encouraging story - its good to hear about breakthroughs as well as brick walls!

Archive Books also sponsor some lists. A comprehensive list of lists can be found on the Genuki website. Listers are very helpful, and several of my brick walls have been tumbled thanks to their efforts. (Rosemary, Essex)

Thought I'd let you know about my continuing search for Eleanor Carter COLDRICK 1811 from Gloucester. (A long and winding tale!). I received today her death certificate saying she was a widow of Richard Hodges CARTER -Solicitor. I emailed the Gloucester Rootsweb with a question after the only trace I could find of him was an entry in Pigot's Directory from 1830 and some kind person came up with his birth in 1790 and Eleanor's birth complete with parents' names. Just thought newcomers might find these mailing lists useful - a google search under Rootsweb UK will link to a list of the mailing lists available. If you all knew this already then Sorreee but I am so bursting with finding Eleanor's husband after 2 years of searching. Happy Saturday Ann
