I remember seeing a thread about this site a while ago but thought I would post it again as there may be others who didn't see it (couldn't find the old thread). It is http://www.ideal-homes.org.uk/index1a.html Also has a bit of history on the different areas. Louise |

Hi Louise, this really got my husband interested as he was born in Welling in 1931 and his father born Plumstead in 1899. He can remember so much of the things that has been said might have got him interested in family history now!! Thank you Margaret |

Hello Margaret, It's a really good site isn't it, and an excellent collection of photos. All my mum's family come from a lot of these places and many are still living there. Let's hope your husband keeps up the interest and can help with your searching! Louise |

Great Site Louise - thanks for that. I was born on the Progress Estate in Eltham, so it was interesting to read about the history of its archticture. Sue |

What a brilliant site. I lived in Charlton till 1967 when we moved to Kent. My Mum & Dad were married at St Lukes Church Charlton in 1929 & we knew it was a Norman church. Several of our family were christened there & my elder sister too married there in 1954 How lovely to see an old picture of the church & Charlton village . Old stamping grounds for sure. Shirley |

Thanks for this Louise I've had a quick peek but will look more closely later. A lot of my Essex line moved to this area of London around the time of the 1851 census so will give me a feel for the place Lou |

Hi Lindy, I have just tried it using copy and paste and it worked fine for me. Did you include all the address? Sorry I didn't see the message earlier, I have been offline for the past hour. I will send the link to you in a private mail for you to try. Louise :-)) |

Thanks Bob for adding that other site. I have only just got around to looking at it and have now added it to my favourites as it is fascinating. I live very near the old Kingsway tram tunnel and have always wondered about it's history so was pleased to see a section on it in the transport section. Very interesting reading and nice to see so many photos. Louise |
