Hi, no the surname is Steer. According to the lady looking for him the marriage cert gives him a rough birth date of 1888. His father is shown as Thomas, retired mariner. |

>Francis William married Amy Beatrice Linscott of Newton Abbot in Devonport>in 1912. They had two daughters, Amy in 1913 and Phyllis Enid in 1915. Amy >married a William Hill, and Phyllis married my grandfather Horace Albert >Faulkner of Chartham Hatch, Kent. Francis was an Acting Bombardier in the >Devon Royal Garrison Artillery in Devonport (probably a nominal rank as it says in brackets 'skilled dock worker') during WW1, for which he received >a Victory medal. At the moment, that's all I know, except that he was >probably>from the Devon/Cornwall area and his father Thomas is listed on his wedding certificate as a retired mariner. |
