He dosen't happen to be a coachman does he. There is a 27 year old married James Vincent, servant, living at Close of Salisbury, Wiltshire in the 1871 census. UPDATE - looks like it could be him then from your last post, although he gives his birthplace as Wilton, Wiltshire. Kath. x

kathleen Yes, he's James born about 1843 hertfordshire. he was a coachman in 1881 & 1891 so could concievably be anywhere

Sorry, tired eyes too. I found the name and looked - was going to give up as the writing was not that of the enumerator so nothing to compare with. HOWEVER - If you look down the page at Jane Noyes - she is a servant - put down as servant BUT on either side of this the checker has added 'general' and domestic. From this, I believe the 'general' on your one has had 'Domestic Serv.' added. Hope this helps. Going to bed now. Dea xxx

Jess Wish I could help! 1st word I think is Da--- second looks like LesN. All the other occupations on the page are nicely written and I can't see any other letters that look like the ones you are trying to decipher. Typical! nell
