Its this site. I have sent 3 replies to someone who contacted me about a relative but today had a reply off them to say they had not emailed me in the first place. So the mail must be getting mixed up, my tree has been mixed up as well. EllenX |

Don't give up. I sent 2 messages to someone that I just knew was a relative with no reply. I had just about given up when out of the blue I got a reply. Turns out to be a cousin 3 times removed and he has given me SO much info. Even a load of photographs including one of my gtx3 grandfather (born 1801) and grandmother (born 1808) taken around 1850/60. We have exchanged loads of emails and are hopefully going to speak on the telephone this weekend. |

I am going to sound like a totally grumpy old woman now but I wish I got a few less contacts!! If I were to put a percentage on contacts I receive it would be 10% useful and 90% a complete and utter waste of time. Over the last two weeks I have had some really weird (to me) contacts. One just asked for my ancestors address? Didn't want to know who the parents were or siblings or spouse - just the address. I told him I have 1,700 people on my tree but didn't know all their addresses and telephone numbers! I thought this was supposed to be 'Family' History not compiling a Thomsons Local! I had another contact asking me if my ancestor was the one I was looking for. I said that as she was on my tree I was not actually looking for her! Finally, I like to help on these forums where I can (but I choose which queries I can or want to help on). Someone PM'd me the other day and asked about someone who WASNT on my tree but wanted me to research them and they wrote their message entirely in capital letters. I've come to dread receiving any contacts lately. I never seem to get any contacts from the nice sensible friendly people on these boards. PS I have now changed my user name to avoid those users who PM and 'shout' at me asking me to research people not on my tree! |

Hey Dea I'm waiting hear from YOU!! Or anyone else trying to untangle myriads of Greenhalghs from Lancashire. I live in the East of England where I've never met one but in parts of Lancs there seems to be a family of them, usually John or William and Mary, on every street. Best wishes Louise ;-) |

Dea, ive no idea why you feel neglected? you were brilliant in helping me find my ROBERT LUNT, you and Lisa from US of A, allyou have to do now is find out what happened to him after him coming back from France with the Canadian Expeditonry Force in 1820. Did he stay in Canada, get married there, or did he come back to England etc. Now theres a project that should stop you feeling neglected. LOVE TED XX |
