Yes Frederick Raymond Goddard, born 15/4/1921 England (helpful) i really don't know where to go from here, there are so many questions what was his birth name where was he born and where was he until he was 6 years old , as he was adopted in london would it be streaching it to assume he was born in london? It could be anywhere in England!! As my husband adopted my son when we married you would think FIL would have said something at the time about being adopted himself but no he left us to find out afther he was gone. Thanks anyway Ann |

As Jess says, you cannot get his birth certificate without his birth name. So the one you have found has the surname you knew him by? Sam |

The problem is. you cannot really get his birth cert without knowing his birth name. I guess at 6 years of age his christian name will not have been changed, so you could hunt, but it wouldnt be easy |

Ann, what exactly did you find to tell you he was adopted? Just thinking if you knew his birth name you can still do a family tree Not everyone is interested in the living relatives, but you're husband might like to trace his roots Sam |

the info contained in an adoption file is only ever avalible to an adoptee. You say that all concerned are now dead, there may well be more people involved than you imagine (later siblings etc) , and thus even after death of an adoptee, the file remains closed. Jess x |
