Sorry about your lost pics Anne. If that happened to me I would be devastated! A friend recently put a second hard drive on for me to store all my pics and videos. Also I have put them all on a CD too. Hope this is a good tip for others? Gerri.

Ah, my suggestions would have been the same as above, the SEARCH feature, Piccaso, and checking the recycling bin! Short of accidently dumping them in the recycling bin, I don't know of any virus that would just attack pictures/videos. Is all her other items and features working properly? Judy

Hi Just a thought. Have they been accidently deleted ? Check your 'Recycle Bin'.

In that case, you need a programme to help you restore lost or hidden files. Look on ebay for item no. 7208144548 . It works - trust me! Unless you have completely trashed your hard drive, they will be there in some shape or form :-) There are many similar programmes available. Ian

I don't know if this will help anyone. But I installed a programme called Picassa from google. It was recommended on here by somebody a while back. It finds all your photos etc., and files them all onto itself. Everytime I go back to it it automatically finds all the newest stuff and puts it on. I'm just wondering if it may 'find' the photos lost. I have no idea if it will work but worth a go.

my pc crashed a few weeks ago & I had to re-install Windows ect I lost all my photos too, so I would like to know if you can retreive the photos or are they gone forever Mandy

Thanks Tom. Yes, she has. It is her laptop that's done it! I am wondering whether it has been a virus! Such a shame, all her little ones videos + pics gone! Luckily I have a few copies but its devasting isn't it. xxxxxxAnn

Do a search (start button, then click search). In the search field, put 'JPG' and set it running. It will find all your pic files for you. If you are using XP, just click search then pictures, videos and music files. Be prepared to find out what other people have been using the intenet for though.......:-) Ian

Oh gawd ann, yes I remember that, I think Judy in the States sorted it. Perhaps you could put her name in the title thread? I lost all my photos on my ft2005 but she told me to look in the actual documents folders I think and they were there.

Hi I KNOW I read a thread about this on here but have searched through + can't find it. I wonder if anyone can help me please. Well actually its my daughter! She has lost ALL!! PHOTOS+VIDEOs of her little girl! on her pc. The folders are still there. This happened to someone on here but I can't remember how they solved the problem.............. Thanks all Ann xx
