I dont often ask for any help on here but whenever I have the responses have been wonderful and the excellent tips I have picked up just by reading the messages have been great. Happy hunting to each and everyone of you. Keep smiling Margaret

OOOOOOO Margaret, We could be related! I have an Angelina Tomlinson in my family! She was the second wife of my BGrandfather! I am pleased you have found the info you wanted. Folks are just great on here aren't they. Especially when you can't see the wood for the trees, like me! sometimes. Ann x

How kind you all are to a nearly new pensioner!! I have seen the birth index in Bury which is in Lancashire. For ages now I believed that Mary Park was Fred's mum. However, recently I sent for a birth certificate for Margaret Percival his sister and who was a witness at his marriage. To my horror it came back with mum as Elizabeth Tomlinson. Now perhaps you are right and John did marry again never thought of that, you can tell how new I am at this can't you? It's a pity really because I had become very fond of Mary, plus I had found loads of info about her birth family. Well you know what they say happens if you assume anything? Will send for Joseph's birth cert and see what happens. I love this family research thing but oh how frustrating it gets. Thank's a million for all your help. Best wishes to all Margaret

Thank you for your trouble girls. I think you may be right and his birth was not registered. However I have found a Joseph Percival who may be Fred's brother so I am just going to have to risk it and send for his birth certificate. His father was called John and I was trying to confirm if I had got the right person for his mother. Oh well I will keep looking. Thank's again to all you super sleuths. I have found him on all the censuses from 1871-1901. Best wishes Margaret

Hi, Had a look on the Local BMD and Free BMD 1859-1862, and like you, no joy. It only became mandatory to register births in 1875, so maybe his parents didn`t bother. Have you tried similar sounding names? Jay.

Sorry to be a nuisance but could anyone please help me find a birth? According to his marraige certificate Frederic Percival was born in 1861. His birthplace was Redmire Yorkshire. I have looked on Free BMD and 1837 online but to no avail. I would appreciate if anyone with a fresh pair of younger eyes could help me out. Thank's very much. Best wishes Margaret
