Have just got in from work and contacted Stafford Records Office who say they can do a search for his burial, but as I have the date of death shouldn't cost too much. Kate thank you for looking but the marriage was too early. She was born 1847 Heather there was no hospital in that area at that time so I am assuming he was just working in Cannock as Wimblebury was a small mining village.Thank you to those of you who replied Lindy

Don't know if this is connected at all... Mary A Bradley married Joseph Timmins at Wordsley 1838 Probably just a coincidence. Heather

I wonder if you can find out where he was buried, and see if there is a gravestone which would confirm if it is the right person. Kate.

Oh, its all part of the fun though isnt it! It may just be that he was there because he was ill. Do let us know, wont you!!

Heather,I have just been Googling and there appears to have been a convalescent home in the area.I think I might contact the nearest archive centre and see if they have anything.I keep looking at this blessed certificate in case I've missed anything.I've waited 3 weeks for it arrive and now I'm still none the wiser.Lindy

JESSE PLIMMER Well i have had a look. I cannot find many people with this name.in England. Certainly none of similar age, so who else could it be?

Heather Report 22 Mar 2006 21:53

Im just wondering - not knowing the area is a handicap - but whether there was a cottage hospital or anything? But what I cant understand is that the informant usually gives their status in relation to the deceased and their addy?

Is Tipton far? I dont know the area. Would there be any sort of hospital for miners in this place as it seems strange not to give a proper address?

Hi Heather. His wifes maiden name was Bradley ,again from Tipton. My gut instinct tells me its him,but all the info I have on them is based in Tipton. The only clue is his brother living in the Cannock area.I wondered if they may have moved there for a time or if Jesse was just working there. As you say I'll have to trawl the census and see what I can find .Many thanks to you both for your timeLindy

Well, this chap must live nearby I should think, why not trawl the area for him in the census? What is the wifes maiden name - do you have a certificate for one of the kids? I cant see it is a great problem really - unusual name, he was with the family before - he isnt with the family after that date or anywhere else and its the right place and he is the right age?

Hi Heather .It says that he died of pneumonia and doesn't give an address ,just Wimblebury,Cannock Lindy

Heather

Heather Report 22 Mar 2006 19:45

Lindy Does it say where he died? If at home, I would guess that Joseph would be a relative or neighbour but if an accident at work, Joseph could be a workmate. Heather

I have just recieved the death cert for Jesse Plimmer [hoping its my GGrandfather]died Feb 1876 in Cannock Staffs. His age 28 ,tallies with his date of birth as does his occupation [Miner]narrows it down a bit ! On 71 and 81 census the family live in Tipton Staffs and on 91 my GGrandmother has remarried, still living in Tipton. However ,he did have his brother and family living in Cannock from at least 1877 onward. Is there anyway I can find out if this is definitely my GGrandfathers death It gives as present at death a Joseph Timmins who I have no idea about. Anyone got any ideas please? Lindy
