Would they have been living in one of the areas where the records have been lost (or are too damaged to be usable)? If that's possible, type ''1861'' in the thread-search and you'll find there's a thread with a list of missing places. Christine

Hi Christine i have a list of places not covered,i know my first family Richardsons in Cheshire there area is'ant covered but iam sure there wasn't any area in Staffs that wasn't covered, maybe wrong though. Gill

can you clarify a bit - those folk in the 1861? (obviously not the children ) were he and she married?, where and when did they marry?

Have you tried alternate variations of the spellings--i have 4 different variations of Naden on 4 different census returns-all the same family carol
