Well Freds offer sounds good, particularly if you dont have an ancestry sub yet.

Normal price has always been around £29 or about £20 for an upgrade. Upgrade might require prroof of purchase of an earlier version. There are cheaper offers around from time to time. The so called 'deluxe' versions include data CD's which may, or more often than not, may not be of use. As you have no idea what is on them don't waste your money - put it towards an Ancestry subscription.

I bought the £20+ one but my FTM was not a proper one to upgrade;;;;;;; so I had to pay a extra £6 to get the up-grade;;;;;;;; So now I have full up-grade;;;;;;; for abot £26 Babs PS Heather you can have the Fiver;;;;;;;

Hi Tiger Lily there is a disc that upgrades from 2005 to 2006 and costs £20-95. The basic full one that doesn't have data discs costs £26-45. Heather

Hi Val, thanks for the info, but it seems to be describing an upgrade and I have nothing yet to upgrade. I'll have to keep looking. Regards TGx

No, you are looking at the super dooper, lots of cds that no one will ever use edition. You just need the standard one about £20-25 . Try my-history website or S and N Genealogy or TWR computing.

Can this be right? People on this board talked of paying about £20-£25 for Family Tree Maker 2005. Everywhere is sold out now(including Amazon) so I decided to buy the 2006. The price is about double! It may have amazing improvements which make it worth the extra, but I would value your comments before thinking of buying it. TGx
