Re the 1841 census where they have transcribed Shelton as Swinnerton....... To be honest I prob wouldn't bother!! It must be at least two years since I wrote to them asking if they could correct the spelling of Islington on the 1881 census as they had well over 6,000 people apparently living in ISLINSTON!! It still hasn't been changed! Merry |

Well they are all entries made by a member of the LDS church, not extracted entries from a parish register. There are a load more entries for the same name and parents for 1833 in Stoke on trent as well!! This may be him on the 1841 census: Emma Shenton abt 1835 Staffordshire, England Stoke upon Trent Staffordshire >>>>Enoch Shenton abt 1832 Staffordshire, England Stoke upon Trent Staffordshire Harriett Shenton abt 1830 Staffordshire, England Stoke upon Trent Staffordshire Samuel Shenton abt 1840 Staffordshire, England Stoke upon Trent Staffordshire Sarah Shenton abt 1806 Staffordshire, England Stoke upon Trent Staffordshire Stephen Shenton abt 1838 Staffordshire, England Stoke upon Trent Staffordshire Thomas Shenton abt 1806 Staffordshire, England Stoke upon Trent Staffordshire Merry |

Are the batch numbers the ones extracted from parish records (probably C with some numbers after it) or a batch submitted by someone? If they are submitted records then quite simply more than one person has sent them in. |

Most likely the same person 4 times! If you could tell us his name and the year and place, then we can have a look and tell you what the different entries are............ Merry |

Found my 2xgrt grandfather on IGI, my only problem is he is entered 4 times with differant batch numbers, same parents ,same year, same place one even has his sisters name on as well. Does this mean he is the same peson entered 4 times or am i missing some thing and they are differant people. I have tried to ring local family history centre but there's noboby there. Gill |
